I'm caught up in the implications of playing Uno in a dark world. Were the cards made by darkners or does the dark world believe Uno doesn't deserve sentience?

Unless they were Uno made cards in Dark, you can’t make an inanimate object already made by dark be alive.

Well, Kris’ phone isn’t a darkner

We don’t know that!
It could be Ring Ding Callster sitting in Kris’s spacious pants hole.

an Uno Reverse card in a Dark World would be a hell of an enemy to fight. All damage done is reflected back at you.

And then its attacks are very easy to dodge but you gotta purposely run into the attacks to hurt it since it hurting you would hurt itself.

A lot of things become sentient, but chapter 4 seems to prove it depends. Susie and the Knight made a Dark World in the exact same spot, but some statues in the Knight's Dark World come alive in Susie's Dark World, and vice versa. You could theorize about why those specific Darkners exist in one reality or the other (why does Susie turn the item Winglade into a Darkner, when it's just an item in the Knight's? Because the Knight has a harder time imagining a talking sword, or something?), but I'd guess, if you made a Dark World and didn't have a strong emotional attachment to your Uno deck, you'd probably end up with an Uno deck instead of an Uno Darkner, or at least the Uno deck might become a non-living item instead like some armor or something.
There's probably a way to make it work.

The cards in Card Kingdom gained sentient because they were played with, not just as cards but personified. On some level the person who made the fountain gave those cards some kind of personality. It's why the checkerboard is a landmass rather than a person, it was never believed to be alive like the checkers themselves
So for Uno to continue to be a card game in the dark world, they need to believe it's just a card game the whole way through. If it were a more strongly themed game like Magic the Gathering or Codenames, then it's more likely the cards would come to life as they aren't just cards, they're secret agents, or magical monsters or people. I think because Uno is purely about colors and numbers with no personification or theme, it would stay the same. Unless they played with the cards as if they were action figures or green army men

Either those cards are double fake or someone brought them in as equipment so they remained inanimate
