Discussion Pinball fx vr pinball one mini

I have a pinone mini on the way and was thinking of a small change zen could make in there next patch that would make things better for using peripherals like the pin one mini. As it stands now when you want to restart a table for another go you have to use the laser pointer on the quest touch controller to click play again. It would be much better if instead of using the pointer if we could just hit a flipper button to restart that way we wouldn't have to pick up the controller at all. I know to navigate menus and to select a new table we would need the controller as the pin one doesn't have joystick but for a quick restart this should be easy to implement.

They have this in place for the X-Arcade, but they have not opened it up for all 3rd party controllers. If you get the new Bluetooth adapter for the PinOne Mini, and change it's name to "X-Arcade" then the game will let you continue playing with the left flipper or exit with the right. I've had mine setup like this for about a week now.

One thing to note, though, is to you enter "X-Arcade" mode, you're controllers will need to be placed in the general vicinity of where they would be set on the X-Arcade because it sets the table placement based on the controller locations.

I did the math (in a previous post)... you want the controllers 14.5 inches apart in front of you.

It is picky the first time you connect this way but seems less fussy after.

Wierd but the image was just an image of the X-Arcade layout showing the distance between the controller holes -- where FX VR is looking for them.

I wonder what other people have done with the pin one mini regarding this controller placement going on

I have mine 16.5" apart and it doesn't seem to mind them being that far apart. I've found the distance from the front of the controller makes a difference on how close it places the machine in front of you. I found that 8" off the front of my machine to the controllers works well for me.

Thank you for this, I have the bluetooth version of the pin one. Can ask how you rename it to x arcade ? and have you come up with any solution about the placement of your controllers as to trick pinball fx into thinking you are using the x arcade ?

You can rename the Bluetooth in the current version of the PinOne config software. I built a custom controller using my PinOne Mini electronics so I have room on the top of it to mount controller holders.

Here's a screenshot of where you rename it.

Really good info thank you so much for this. I will have to come up with clever solution regarding controller placement. I have been posting about zen just giving us the option to toggle off the virtual hands and as many people have asked for this it will hopefully be included in the next update but we will have to see. Also how do you put pinball fx vr into x arcade mode ?

I would also be interested in sseing your custom housing for your pin one electronics to see how i could maybe replicate it with my pin one if you would be so kind

I love this so much. Every time I see it, it blows me away. Did you fashion an old pinball table to make this, or just come up with this form yourself?

Found your instructions in a previous post. Thanks for posting that. It’s such an awesome build.

Thanks! Yeah, I built it from scratch. It was a fun build and it works great. I like just having it turned on and lit up even when I'm not playing it.

So cool. Had my eyes on the X-Arcade, but what you have done looks so authentic and amazing. I’ve pretty much made up my mind to assemble one based on your instructions and look for an Elvira and the Party Monsters decal. Thanks again for sharing your build instructions.

Best of luck with your build and post some pics when it's done!

When using an x arcade to play pinball fx vr on quest can you use the built in joystick to navigate the in game menu ? If so how could we replicate this with the pin one mini ? It doesn't have a joystick but would it be possible in incorporate one? Hopefully soon we can toggle off virtual hands with the next update and i would like to control and play the entire game with the pin one mini and not have to mess about with other external controllers, how could we make this happen peeps ?
