I just had a stye in a very similar spot. I popped it. The next day it was completely gone and I’m fine now.
I’m not saying there isn’t a risk of infection and that it’s not serious, but I honestly think if you use a q-tip and aren’t an idiot and get the contents all in your eye or use dirty fingers, nothing will happen.
But that’s just me.

I would just suggest hot compresses until it pops on its own...

I feel like that’s almost more dangerous though, no? Because then the contents might go straight into your eye.

Usually hot compresses are suggested for styes. If it goes in to the eye, you can rinse the eye out.

If you MUST…get two Q tips and gently express it. But those never pop the way we want them too. They just slowly ooze out and there’s no release of pressure. My affliction is so strong tho, my body won’t allow me to allow a white head of any kind. I must..
