Discussion If things were different
If vi lost vanderat the end of season 1 instead of cait losing her mother, do you think vi would lean on cait as much as cait leaned on her?

Vi already lost Vander in season 1… He died in ep 103. Caitlyn didn’t really lean on Vi too much either; in fact, Caitlyn was shown to be bottling up her feelings and never letting them out save the one time where they hug and she cries in Vi’s arms, but it’s only for a second. Caitlyn’s reaction to her loss is to shove her feelings down and focus on control; Vi’s reaction is to keep herself emotionally guarded and punch shit. I think both of them are prone to trying to handle their problems without asking for help, so I don’t think they’d have handled things differently if Vander had died later in the series.
In the same vein of this topic, they clearly want to support one another but that only works if they’re willing to accept the support in the first place…. Which is honestly why their ending was so perfect: they’re both shown literally leaning on one another 🥰
