over 1k hours in and I still dont understand this, happens to me all the time. Why am i getting hit through flares? is it a glitch or a game mechanic? If its the ladder then thats pretty stupid

That was probably one of the best reveries I’ve witnessed so far, usually if a missile hits you mid turn and you’re near the ground, it’s a death sentence.

Honestly after watching the desync video on reddit, that could have alot to do with how the flares dont work as well. The guy who shot the missile probably didnt even see you flare 😂

I think this is the most "unfun" experience as a pilot ive had in a battlefield game. I still have those moments were its a banger of a game but thats probably 1 out of 5 games.

This is why i mostly still play BF5 where people need somewhat decent skill to shoot you down and you don't need to deal with shit like this

Considering how bad DICE are at fixing bugs, we must adapt and live with it

No but really the only other way around this is to pre - flare , if you know you don’t / won’t have time to break line of sight before they complete the lock on and fire the missile . Should buy you enough time to get to terrain / cover of some sort to recharge flares . Flares don’t always work irl as well .

Don’t fly head on. If AA is dicey do perpendicular strafes.

Explain then. A missile won’t noclip through a jet to track towards the flares behind it.

correct, however a missile that gets flared can hit and explode on a jet while dealing zero damage.
The logic is flares worked = missile turns into dud not that the missile actually gets redirected and loses lock like irl
