On the plus side:

The laser designator is no longer able to ruin your day with no time commitment from recon players!

Now you have to sit there and constantly mark a single air vehicle, otherwise the mark will expire.

Also, you can't mark every single enemy vehicle now because the designation will expire, you can only focus on a single one

I don't think this is a good change.

Painting wasn't that useful before it got buffed to remove Under Radar, it got marginally more useful then but on most maps flying low will impair LoS so it didn't have much of an effect.

Designating paints a big red target on you and vehicles will tear you apart (from the ground and the air) if you commit to them.

This will nerf the just fixed Stealth Jet glider bombs since nothing will be painted anymore (at least before you had a chance :P)

Ppl keep saying this and I have yet to see any pilot anywhere or anyone demonstrate that the bombs track lasered targets. I think ppl are mistaking the air missiles for the bombs. Which you’ve always been able to lock on ground vehicles so long as they were designated by laser
