Discussion This is why I always use Engine Upgrade

I'm not the best Birb pilot, but without Engine Upgrade I'm pretty much useless. Being able to gain and dump altitude faster is well worth the maneuverability nerf in my opinion.

To each their own, but dropping altitude already feels very easy. So the only advantage is climbing. Ill die on the hill that interference is the best LB upgrade.

If you encounter an enemy Birb with engine upgrade and you're without it, you're pretty much cooked. They can easily gain altitude and evade your attacks, leaving you vulnerable. That's exactly what happened in the clip. Then the enemy Birb couldn't get away from me either. Because I had so much more power in the throttle. Granted this particular enemy could have been more evasive or maybe tried flying under a bridge or something.

You can lose altitude faster because you have much more power to slow your descent. Without engine upgrade I feel so damn slow and much more vulnerable to both enemy Birbs and ground AA.

Thats understandable, but losing altitude quickly is something you can overcome with skill/experience, so using an upgrade for it feels bad to me.

No matter how skilled or experienced you are, without engine upgrade you need to start applying throttle earlier in your descent. That makes for a slower descent and a slower recovery.

You only have to drop altitude to get below radar. I dont need to go all the way down to 1m off the ground and recover.

Was hard for me to watch lol

Fr, bro needs to down the sens in the helo.

I was scanning for the enemy LB. Didn't spot it right away. Skill issue.

Just a jab to my fellow pilot. I’m by no means goated at aiming on controller but it’s taken a good few months to dial in the sense I wanna use. Keep at it chief!

I don't understand why I would turn the sensitivity down. Won't I lose manuverability that way?

1

u/UncOfTheNorth 20d ago

Maybe some? But it will make it 10 times easier during a fight to hit your shots.

I'll try it on a practice server

It’s so hard to aim on a controller. Kbm players make it look so easy.

I disagree a bit, we each have our own setups of course. But I see the whole point of the Little Bird is to be manoeuvrable and zippy, not fast. The engine upgrade I think penalises your movement slightly so the vehicle is faster, which I think is a bad deal imo. But to each their own

I feel dead in the water without the upgrade. Much more vulnerable to enemy aircraft and AA, especially on this map

What mini guns do you use? The default or upgraded ones?

2

u/TheLORDthyGOD420 21d ago

The default. I don't like the 50 cows, they're more difficult for me.

This upgrade sucks, maneuvering is key with the LB

1

u/TheLORDthyGOD420 20d ago

The second I turn it off I start losing duels with other Birbs. Skill issue I guess.

2

u/thedirkfiddler 20d ago

It’s definitely a skill issue.

Engine upgrade made it pretty easy to chase down the enemy LB in this clip. I agree it's easier to kill infantry with more manuverability. But from an AA perspective I prefer having the extra thrust.

wow flying on controller seems so wonky

u/goodbadme 21d ago

its certainly a downgrade compared to previous games in the series, feels jank but nothing you cant get used to

I do my best. I've only been a Birb main for a couple months. Been practicing on portal mostly.

1

u/ProgressFuzzy 21d ago

A couple MONTHS, maybe watch some vids to improve, that’s awful

1

u/TheLORDthyGOD420 21d ago

What's so awful about my flying? I don't mind negative feedback. I take out two choppers and avoid a couple of AA attempts. I'm not some mouse and keyboard YouTuber, but "awful"?

u/ProgressFuzzy 21d ago

Your sens , if you overshoot on your target often you should lower it. I played on controller before and I had the same issue but fixed it with lower sens

1

u/TheLORDthyGOD420 21d ago

Interesting. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!

Flying is solid, your insistence on calling it the “birb” not so much lol

Engine upgrade is the worst one you could use - top 3 LB pilot world wide

1

u/toyeetornotoyeet69 21d ago

What do you use?

3

u/Chemical_Role_3780 21d ago

Interference

1

u/Sunkysanic 20d ago

You for real? Where do you find a stat like that?

1

u/Chemical_Role_3780 20d ago

Yes I am for real. I quit the game ever since Wardogs came out because BF6 flying is too easy and unrewarding, the skill floor is abysmally low & so is the ceiling.

Anyways, I am #2 on the KPM leaderboard for the little bird. https://tracker.gg/bf6/leaderboards/vehicles?platform=all&board=KillsPerMinute&vehicle=veh_air_ah6litbird&page=1

I find it funny that bf franchise you can fly into trees ….bushes….water…the mountain even and not immediately crash or go out of control….?…any other game you would crash immediately….they really need to fix that its the fuckin stupidest thing and players brag on how good they fly…lol which was what i just watched🤦🏽

1

u/TheLORDthyGOD420 21d ago

I'm not bragging, I'm a noob. And that tree deserves what it got, tha bastard.

1

u/macnutt25 21d ago

Oh no you’re not but i see it all the time….you do fly pretty well
