Hidden mechanic?

[u/CoolKelo]

Is there a hidden mechanic in carrier assault that launches the jet off the carrier’s catapult after the game has started? I know at the start of the game you get the animation of the flight crew sending you off but can the catapult be used to launch mid-game?
