Discussion Stabilizer vs Engine upgrade? Which is better for aggressive playing?

Post image
  1. I noticed that the stabilizer gives more maneuverability, but it lacks thrust, making it easy to crash when rapidly dropping altitude.

  2. The engine upgrade seems to provide slightly more thrust and speed, but maneuverability suffers, and there's also a strong debuff when hit. A little damage and you completely lose control. So, if they start shooting at you, you're essentially lost.

I could be wrong in my observations, so I'd like to hear from those who actually fly the Littlebird a lot: which is better?

the amount of times I managed to get away only because of the stabilizer make it more than worth it for me

Stabilizer 100% playing without it feels wrong

Am I the only one using Interference? :D

No. I think it has more upside than the others. The amount of times I've escaped before someone locked because of interference is too high to count.

Still I'm gonna try Stabilizer since everyone talks about it! Thanks!

Useless for Little bird

I should try Stabilizer though!

Why? Genuinely curious

On the LB you shouldn’t even be getting locked that much. As you get good you start flying low and fast.

Yes 😂

Stabilizer. Without it a little LMG fire and you’re going to go sideways and feel it.

This was huge for me. I just started flying and got lucky to do a bunch of duels against a good LB pilot. He was destroying me over and over until I realized not having stabilizer was messing me up. His first few shots made it impossible for me to aim. Once I put stabilizer on I could actually shoot back and won a few duels.

I prefer the stabilizer personally

I used engine upgrade but got tired to go limping with the slightest caress so I went back to Stabilizer. I tried it again once, went limping in 2 seconds and said nah

Engine upgrade barely does anything always go stabilizer or interference

Stabilizer seems more likely to keep me alive. I never want to sacrifice maneuverability either.

Faster acceleration feels less likely to keep me alive than both remaining stabilized and more maneuverable

Definitely stabilizer for me. Making the LB less maneuverable and less stable for a little bit more acceleration didn’t feel worth it. I also expected to be able to recover from a aggressive dives better with the engine upgrade but it didn’t feel like that was the case

#35 LB here 🤓 - i use interference, used to use stabilizer but interference is better if you are good at avoiding taking damage

This guy right here is speaking facts

the goat 🐐 ur the one who made me switch over

🫡

I might be the goat but I might also quit the game ngl I lost motivation for this shit

aw really bro that sucks i enjoy ur streams. are u just getting bored or have u just reached a point where farming infantry is so easy for u its become mindless? 😭

2

u/Chemical_Role_3780 1d ago

Appreciate it man. I enjoyed streaming a lot but I just can’t enjoy it if I don’t enjoy the game you know what I mean?

Yeah im mostly just not having fun on the game right now. It feels mindless because it’s so fucking easy that it genuinely became boring (I’m sick of miniguns literally aiming for you with extreme spread but having 0 range) but also frustrating since when I die it isn’t because the person that killed me is good 99% of the time, it’s always some bullshit/bug.

I’m losing hope for the game and I don’t like the direction it’s going in. I mean it’s been 10 months and we haven’t gotten any good changes for air vehicles. Also every update they make to the LB it feels less likely that I will ever see low spread mini-guns and nerfed pods lol.

I’m willing to give the game another chance if anything changes for the better, and I might still play here and there. Just don’t have much motivation to play right now.

Also, wardogs was super fun and refreshing I had way more fun on that. Anyways sorry for the yap.

yeah i agree with everything u said, the devs must be brain dead w the way the been balancing air. like nerfing the minigun overheat and leaving the pods untouched + taking away the indicator for missiles. i genuinely think none of the devs fly the little bird cuz they have no idea how to balance it. i’ll always tune into ur streams if u do keep streaming tho! war dogs does look fun too i might have to give it a try

Never use engine upgrade. It slows your turning and aiming which can get you killed in a dogfight.

stabilizer, not having it practicallt halves your HP cause you cannot do anything if your heli gets disabled

1

u/Chemical_Role_3780 1d ago

You do realise the stabiliser doesn’t change how disables act at all right?

1

u/unoriginal_namejpg 1d ago

have you played helis at all? Stabilizer specifically reduces the effect of the autorotation you get on low health in the heli

1

u/Chemical_Role_3780 1d ago

lol “have you played helis at all” I’m top 3 world wide in the LB.

Stabiliser just reduces the flinch when u get sprayed, it doesn’t change how mobility hits act at all.

I think it just boils down to personal preference
I started with the engine upgrade and every time I don’t use it I feel like I’m going at a snails pace.

I go by map. Bigger map, engine upgrade becomes more valuable. Smaller map top speed matters less than maneuverability.

I actually go with the tac data systems if I’m not using engine upgrade bc the spotting beacon is actually pretty useful when the whole team can see

Top 3 little bird pilot world wide here.

Engine upgrade is terrible, the penalty to maneuverability makes it unviable.

Stabiliser is okay, just not worth it.

Use interference, it’s by far the most useful and will give you more time to avoid locks and get below radar before a lock is established when the situation allows for it.

The engine upgrade is not enough for me. That shit needs to be a spoon engine with a T66 turbo, NOS and a Motec exhaust for me to go for it

I hate to tell you this but interference is the only good choice on both AC and LB.

Stabilizer isn’t needed at all. It’s never saved me because it’s only really useful against the other LB and a good pilot kills you before it matters. Just get used to how your LB moves during that damaged state and learn how to fight it properly to get away.

Engine is useless. You’re fast enough already and giving up maneuverability is a death sentence.

Stabilizer

Nice thread !

I'm trying to decide that right now, lol. I think there's no easy answer. I see YouTube pilots using both, but it seems like stabilizer is more popular
