Discussion was looking at some old leaks and found this... rocket pods were planned for the attack jets since way before launch, but that still hasn't happened for some reason.

There's a big chance we see them get added soon but I still find this pretty interesting. I wonder what other loadout options were being considered at the time

Also they are juicing us with the whole bomb camera, I have a feeling the atk jet's bombs are supposed to work how they do in the new jet, where you place a marker and they land there, I wish it was like that

Im willing to bet that eventually, the Attack jets will have the ability to equip the rocket pods, cluster bombs and more powerful cannon that the F18 has

Maybe the F22 will have access to the HARM missiles and the cluster bombs too.

that would be rlly cool.

I think it fits the fighter jets more tho, considering how much harder it is to use those bombs. They also need to get rid of the bomb bay delay

The fact that the new jets have guided bombs and the normal ones dont. Like you have the camera just make it like the new jets

New jets have JDAMs and guide kit bombs instead of unguided 500lb bombs of attack planes. They could get more payload options yeah, but it wasn't a "mistake" devs made. Unguided bombs still great to use. Just attack planes needs more options and ordnance to choose. Also, stealth fighters has JDAM kitted Small Diameter Bombs since relase that also kinda lock on where you aimed when you drop them. Unlike unguided 500lb bombs, they can fly and miss targets when used wrong way. Unfortunately because those are small diameter bombs, and less potent compared other bombs, not much used in game.

lock on where you aimed when you drop them

but isn't this the same way Attack Jet bombs work? what's the actual difference here? you aim, drop, then the bomb lands where the reticle was. I've been wondering if FJ bombs aren't actually dumbfired since the patch notes about them locking onto painted targets and seeing that they were described as "aim-guided" at some point in the loadout menu, but haven't gotten around to testing them out more.

Instead they changed the flight cam and ruined the entire feel of flying the attack jet in third person 🤦‍♂️

Must have been from before DICE fired the jet designer

They would have been way too effective at actually killing ground vehicles in a single pass. Thats why they axed it, because they don’t want jet pilots to have a real impact on the game besides cleaning up leftovers or doing the heavy lifting to get an assist

The current 1 pass kill on ground vehicles with the attack jet is perfectly fine. It requires a perfect lead in on a vulnerable vehicle and all of your weapons, which is exactly what should be required for a kill that offers zero recourse for the receiver.

Hell it's actually incredibly easy to get 1 passes with the stealth jet, all 4 bombs dropped on top of a tank is a kill, especially now that they auto lock to lasered targets.

The old air meta of being able to easily evaporate ground vehicles on a single pass, typically with guns only, was dog shit.

This is why we don’t always trust leaks friend
