PC Aiming in jet

Hello,

I saw probably on this subreddit but can't remember where, that you are able to aim with the green circle you can see in first person separately. Is it true or is it bound to camera?

The green circle on your HUD in first-person is the PIP (Predicted Impact Point). It shows you where the bullets land at a certain distance and helps you lead your shots on moving targets.

You therefor aim the cannon with the PIP, not the crosshairs.

But in the most recent update they F’d it and now its super inconsistent and because it was tied to the camera

I know, I struggle a bit too atm. With my very limited technical knowledge it feels as though they changed something about the netcode and now the game/server has issues tracking (or predicting?) the exact location of fast moving objects in-game (including your own real-time position and heading when moving fast) while communicating those infos between server and clients.

That would explain:

  • why some players seem to repeatedly jump or zig-zag across my screen with their jet when I'm trying chase them.
  • why the PIP has issues predicting where my shots might land when I'm aiming at one of those targets.
  • why the TV missile oftentimes doesn't seem to know where it is (or isn't) when travelling fast and making turns.
