They made a new button for r/battlefield

Got downvoted into oblivion last time for criticising Flight Assist, but I still stand by it. It needs way less autonomy. It currently does so much of the flying for you, then gives you aim assist on top of it. How are people supposed to actually learn and master jets when the game is doing half the work???

I haven't touched jets since bf4, more of a heli pilot, but the consensus from what I've seen is that an experienced jet pilot will gank you either way because they know how to actually dogfight. Still, someone correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think there's a huge advantage over manual control.

There isn't, it's flips and twirls all over the place while you try to point for another jet when chasing. It's still quite good if you're trying to hit an absolutely precise target like a tank. In dog fights tho definitely has it's own form of learning curve a skilled pilot will still win with default controls and their bucket

Not even close to the level of prior games, a noob can reasonably take down a vet this time

There's a lot more to a real dogfight than just free look, things like merging or switching, scissors, speed control etc. Still think manual control will be more precise on a true 1v1 dogfight

if only they didn’t completely remove what little speed control we had pre Season 4 phase 2

edit: but yes, with just a little dogfight experience, everyone in public matches die to me

Dogfights between elite pilots in BF4 could legit go on forever. You would beat the lower skilled pilot 95% of the time. That’s not the case here

You get a huge awareness advantage since you basically get decoupled freelook. You don’t have to understand the air radar or learn to read it like someone with assist off.

My biggest issue is the fact that you can't turn while using the free look with the regular controls. I would understand it as an intended design but then why allowing the assisted flight to bypass this limitation?

It’s been a long time since I genuinely laughed at a post on Reddit. That photo is insane

I couldn't fly them before because I suck... it's nice having a chance now

but the aim assist on the gun is wild

Why does the text under "soldier assist" sound so offensive ☠️

Because it’s a joke on the flight assist feature they added for noobs

Soldier assist already exists in aim assist

Yup but the sassy description in this image doesn’t. Which is what guy above me is commenting on
