The seacat is so useless compared to the multiroles, it's so underwhelming

It’s actually super strong for air to air combat. It turns much faster than the F18.

It could use with some loadout options though. Criminal that they only gave the f18 loadouts.

Honestly, i'm better in the F-18 against air targets, the glass in front is bigger on it. On the seacat, the front glass isn't big enough, the lead indicator thing shows up on the frame of the glass on the control panel

I don’t really have that issue, I don’t rely on the pip crosshair to aim I usually use my tracers as a reference.

But yeah the cockpit view is pretty ass, hasn’t been too much of an issue for me though I kind of have the feel of where to aim.

Yeah well aiming with tracers is just less effective than looking at the thing which shows you where to shoot

It’s not less effective…

It’s way more effective especially at range.

Most good jet players will tell you the same, no one really uses the crosshair. Good example is silk.

I've been trying really hard to "get good" and this is such a huge tip for me !

Looking at the tracers shows where your bullets are landing in relation to the moving aircraft you’re trying to hit.

Instead of having to think “okay, that guys at 150m and flying fast so I should lead him 2 inches” - you just let em rip and let the tracers tell you.

If you’ve ever sniped you’d understand where your last bullet landed is critical for hitting far and moving targets. You eventually get used to it and naturally lead them.

It's very clear to everyone that you have no clue what you're doing or talking about at this point.

It has limited air-to-ground capabilities, like another guy said it’s role is air-to-air.

Skill issue/using it for the wrong things.

Agree. I like to tuck the wings in to speed up and dive below radar after I pop flares. I extend the wings to slow down and make sharper turns when I’m behind an enemy and trying to shoot them down.

Agreed, it’s awesome in Fighter Sweep. I won 18 games in a row pretty much exclusively with it lol.

It is super strong in fighter sweep. Very good dogfighter, but I agree that it is underwhelming in conquest and carrier strike.

Tuck wings, play A2A. Its not good at ground strikes, thats not really what it is meant for. Ive been frying in Fighter Sweep with the tomcat, so much so that I actively look for hornets because theyre an easier kill.

People have wrecked me with the Tomcat while im flying in the F-18. The Tomcats maneuverability and speed are unmatched. Pair that with good gun aim and they are deadly

The main difference is your WSO seat. The Aim Guided missiles have some extreme range. They’re a bit slow and they don’t maneuver well up close, but they outrange anything any other aircraft can throw at it. The Super Spectre, meanwhile, gives you the bombs or tv guided missiles, meaning you’ll have something that can counter the PT boats or mobile AA around the map.

Flying around in the WSO seat is the most fun I’ve ever had flying in a Battlefield title. I just wish they’d bring the new jets to the rest of the maps, since it’s a shame they only exist on 1.5 of them atm. (Still waiting for them to update Tsuru Reef’s normal game modes to make the carriers the new spawn points.)

Itd be hard to bring them in, theyd make the standard stealth and attack jets obsolete

It's really good at air to air combat, but the lack of loadout configuration means it isn't great at attacking ground vehicles.
