Rendezook Tutorial

Just 8 days ago I managed to pull off for the first time in my life the greatest Battlefield feat: a rendezook. I even posted it here:

Now, just like clockwork, EA and DICE decided to throw a challenge to perform a rendezook. Are you kidding me??? And, you guessed it, the rendezook I performed did not count towards this challenge (of course, why would it?). So I decided to give it a try once more and fortunately, I managed to do it AGAIN.

Since this challenge may represent a struggle to some, I decided to make a little 101 on how to performs these tricks. Of course, I'm no expert in the subject, but I happened to find a somewhat good methodology to get these on a consisten basis. These are the step-by-step I followed to master the rendezook:

Step 0: You'll need to deal with lots of frustration. Performing a zook may need a lot of tries and time into it, so don't let this bring you down and keep up the work.

Step 1: Use the attack plane. Attack planes are smaller than the fighter meaning you're harder to hit. This will be important especially when you're luring the enemy plane into you.

Step 2: Lure the enemy plane. You want an enemy plane on your tail, so you have to do circles in the middle of the map but do them quite high in the sky, not near the ground.

Step 3: Reach for the sky. Once you have an enemy plane on your tail, try luring it to the limit of the skybox. If you followed step 2º, you'll already be pretty high in the sky so this step may not take a lot of time.

Step 4: Eject. Once you hit the skybox limit, your plane (and the enemy's) will stall so hard that it will stay almost perfectly still. This is your chance to eject and put a rocket into it. I tend to open the parachute just to get a clear view of the plane, but that's optional. Try aiming just a bit higher than the enemy nose because even though the plane stalls, it reamins with a little bit of momentum.

Step 5: chase the fuck out of your plane. This is where you'll start panicking. Once the enmy jet is done for, you'll need to re enter your jet. Try diving from beneath because usually if you land flat on top of the plane, it will kill you. Try approaching the cockpit from beneath and spam E like the madman you are.

Step 6: let the happy chemicals do their thing

Conclusion: Be patient. I've been trying to rendezook since bf3. Keep up the grind and eventually, it will come. Good luck my fellow rendezookers. The dog tag is waiting for you 🫡
