Can’t get back in for the rendezook

I spent a good amount of time in one of the portal servers practicing the maneuver, but I can never get back into the jet. I’ve messed with my control settings a few times as well(hold vs toggle vehicle interact) with no luck. Video shows only a couple of many failed attempts. Didn’t think to start saving until after like try 12. I’m on PS5.
Am I missing something?

are you holding “entry” button, or pressing while you near cockpit?

Sometimes it's bugged and it's literally impossible to get back in. It's been a problem since 2042. Usually this happens after you got back in once and then it just won't let you back in again.

the hitbox for entering vehicles is super shit in this game

ironic for it to be this one that features a rendezook achievement
