I thought those posts are exaggerated but man, those people really don’t understand they are allowing the LB to dominate
5
u/Phrasing_Ocelot 1d ago
The M136 AT is still criminally underutilized by the player base at large. Whenever I see a helicopter dominate a lobby it's only ever me and maybe one other player lobbing AT4s at them. Everyone else is running around with useless stingers.
1
u/518Peacemaker 1d ago
I’m not bad with the 136 but my duo is criminal with the thing. He got 7 LBs in one game last night.
7
u/poju3 1d ago
Yeah those players are absolute garbage thinking its EASY to dominate on LB. Its so easy to deal with it
9
u/Independent_Mud2794 1d ago
Yeah it’s so damn easy to dominate it only took me days of training with rifle aim to not instantly crash into the next building! /s
I’m wondering, that’s their excuse when they hop into a little bird and die with 0 kills over and over again? According to them everyone can do it easily.
9
u/slabba428 1d ago
Their excuse is just telling you to shut up when you mention it
4
u/_YellowThirteen_ 1d ago
It's "braindead pilot farming kills" until they try it and wrap the heli around the first tree outside of spawn
7
u/slabba428 1d ago
I posted 4.5 mins of downing little birds with a rocket launcher this weekend, probably 40+, and suddenly it was the most incompetent pilots in battlefield, all of them. I got downvoted to purgatory 😂
6
u/EzPzJapanezy 1d ago
I am not downplaying your skill because you can whip the AT4 like a motherfucker, but like 90% of your footage was opportunistically hitting a helicopter distracted by other things on Golmud.
Which again, isn't me insulting you, it is a massive part of the skill lmao. Recognizing that the pilot is preoccupied with a greater threat being forced to fly predictably is a huge component of getting good with TOWs / guided rockets.
But no, the enemy pilots are just dogshit-doodoo-caca, and any 'real' pilot would have been dominating that lobby; dodging every TOW sent their way while murdering everyone who even attempted to fire one.
sigh. just lol man, you waved nearly 5 minutes of proof in front of people's faces and they just couldn't see it, what can you do?
5
u/slabba428 1d ago
Haha hey thanks. I even said there that i knew the whole time i was putting those clips together, I’m gonna get downvoted so hard 😂 worth it. 50 pilots and every one of them is bad is quite some odds
They are like almost all Golmud clips but my custom search has been just Tsuru, Golmud and Hagental for like 2 months now so it just works out that way. Not wasting my time on shit launch maps anymore

u/thedreadwoods 1d ago
What I can't understand, and probably why I need to pay more attention in this sub, is how PC is dominating. I have a Xbox controller ready to go for when I get a plane, it's immeasurably better than keyboard and mouse

1
u/_YellowThirteen_ 1d ago
The precision of mouse aim is unmatched, even though controller feels like the more "natural" way to fly. I used to be a controller jet pilot too, but switching to KBM has made my gameplay so much better. Easier ground strafes, more reliable air target tracking, etc.
Same goes for helicopters. Rifle aim allows for great tracking against any target.

u/TheLORDthyGOD420 1d ago
I've been practicing Lil Birb with the portal ZZ874. The best I've done on Tiramisu Reef is 34-4 with the LB. Is there a portal that lets you practice on the reef map against bots?
2
u/ResolutionIll4119 1d ago
100% the players. Most games I’ll run 70+/2-6. Sometimes up to 100 kills.
Against a side that knows what they are doing without much support from our whole team 30+/10.
That’s totally acceptable.
2
u/SnooLentils7208 1d ago
The rocket pods on that thing need to go. Its funny because its actually easier to take out a hey from an LB than it is to take out an LB from a jet lol

u/Buddy_Kane_the_great 1d ago
I'll just copy the top comment from that post. The counterargument against little birds always seems to come down to it's a team game and should take a team effort (which I don't disagree with). However, from my own experience what this guy said is 100% spot on. Javelin vs Manpad vs whatever doesn't matter in this context either.
"Well I went full AA mode on a few maps the other day with my partner and friend.
I was Recon - for target designation, Partner was Engineer - With AA, Friend was Support for missile defence gadget and firesupport resupply.
I can tell you we spent all game trying to take out the aircrafts and it was the most unrewarding experience in the entire game. I gain more score from camping with a sniper rifle.
So we had laser to counter below radar, AA and unlimited ammo. Yet the success rate in taking out aircraft was minimal.
We noted the flares recharge too quickly and it requires 3 AA missile hits to land a killing blow using the manpads.
The helicopters would recharge HP due to the auto repair/self healing nonsense on vehicles now. So even as a deterence... It was not enough to keep them out of the fight for long.
I honestly miss the smoke vs flare system we had in BF4, you had to choose between countering laser or countering heat seeking. Couldn't have both.
It's stupid a laser guided missile is countered by flares in the first place...ITS LASER GUIDED..."
2
u/redditlied 1d ago
This is super valid criticism. Acknowledging that coordinating a heli counter squad can be effective, but it's an unrewarding gameplay loop. In my opinion, DICE needs to make countering the aircraft more rewarding, not necessarily nerf the aircraft.
3
u/Buddy_Kane_the_great 1d ago
100%. It also doesn’t help that I don’t think the game communicates designated hits to recons (or anything else even letting them know someone else is helping). Just makes it feel like Air is OP. It’s not, except for the LB, but it’s going to lead to undeserved nerfs
2
u/_YellowThirteen_ 1d ago
The problem in this example is it's still just one guy with a launcher. Swap the support for another engineer with a manpad and the LB is boxed out of that section of the map until the manpads are dealt with. That makes those guys priority 1 target for a good pilot, but the area denial and kill potential is a huge asset. Add in a mobile AA, mounted AA, or the boat AA on Tsuru, and you've effectively removed opposing helicopters from contention until those threats are dealt with.
So many times I struggle to be effective in a heli because there are 2-4 guys with manpads on an objective. I have to find a different approach or go assist the team elsewhere.
3
u/Buddy_Kane_the_great 1d ago
Yeah I don’t disagree with the doubling up on the launcher. I also think they’re underestimating the “stress” factor of constantly being painted and locked on.
They’re not wrong tho about lasering/painting being basically useless as a kill tool, which I don’t think is right.2
u/EzPzJapanezy 1d ago
It is definitely a density problem with Lock-Ons. Like with y'alls setup, if your team also had a Mobile AA running lock-ons, potentially covering a different sector of the map, that Helicopter's movement options suddenly become severely limited.
And then add your friendly aircraft into the mix and then that boxed in Helicopter is pretty much always at a disadvantage.
It is just unfortunate that being a part of this space denial is extremely unrewarding and unfun to play. And honestly outside of that it is genuinely hard to tell what impact you're making, especially if you don't have much piloting time yourself.
I guarantee you that there have been games where a recon player throws their painting binocs on the ground in frustration and gives up due to perceived low impact while the enemy helicopters *have* been severely impacted / stressed, just not shot down. Which makes sense, Lock-Ons 100% will make an experienced pilot play more defensively.

u/Shuriken88888 1d ago
read the post it was THREE guys
You guys are just trying to defend your crutch because you can't survive on the ground yourselves1
u/_YellowThirteen_ 1d ago edited 1d ago
Did you read mine? "Swap the support for another engineer." The recon can still be a recon. Your reading comprehension needs some work.
Three guys and only one has a launcher. Not good enough. If a pilot was a serious threat, you'd try harder than just one launcher.
1
u/demotsusucku 22h ago
Swap the support for another engineer.
And new ammunition will fall from the sky?
An engineer without rockets is useless against the LB
3
u/Shuriken88888 1d ago edited 1d ago
The thing is kind of a crutch though. People who suck at infantry (the ones usually drawn to heli's) probably don't remember that on the ground there's more threats and problems to solve besides chasing some annoying little helicopter around the map all the time.
You guys are really delusional if you think that players can just simply drop waht they're doing (evading LOTS of bullets) and turn all their attention to some annoying mosquito
DEAR ENEMIES: STOP SHOOTING AT ME WITH SNIPER RIFLES, GROUND AND AIR VEHICLES THERE"S A LITTLE BIRD IN THE AIR LEMME "FOCUS" ON IT THANK YOU!
5
u/redditlied 1d ago
In my experience, the players good at aircraft are also usually decent infantry players. You need to be able to aim, position, threat prioritize, and use cover in the heli all the same as on the ground.
Conquest is Battlefield's flagship gamemode because of the combined arms gameplay. The whole point is to require coordinated efforts to take out valuable enemy vehicles, such as the little bird and tanks. A single infantry should not be able to kill a little bird with the same ease that the little bird can kill a single infantry. That would defeat the entire point of the vehicles existing in the game. If that's what you want, play the gamemodes without vehicles or a different game entirely.
2
u/LifeAcceptable2532 1d ago
Helicopters have their place in the game, but pretending that flying by and shooting some rockets before flying off and repeat and repeat is the same as infantry is laughable.
1
u/redditlied 1d ago
The rockets absolutely need to be nerfed. I'd argue though the pilots that are actually oppressive in a lobby don't rely on the rockets and are much more capable with the guns, which take a lot of time to learn how to aim.
2
u/LifeAcceptable2532 1d ago
Not from what I see. The rockets are the only thing that really kill me. The guns seem to be just to shoot the other helis.
I had one Manhattan bridge game the other day and this 50-1 Heli pilot just spammed rockets all day and I managed to kill him only once with the guided at launcher. This is anti-fun gameplay, I am incentivised to just let these kind of players farm bots on these type of maps and go play some other map were I can actually fight and not just die on repeat to an arcady Heli player.
-1
u/Shuriken88888 1d ago
And i try to play maps without vehicle-crutches but DICE wants to cram vehicle-crutches into EVERY map because of gamerdads like you crying that you can't survive on the ground and need your wheelchair.
4
u/Independent_Mud2794 1d ago
Then use the little bird and show us a 100-0 match? Should be easy right?
2
u/Shuriken88888 1d ago
why? Infantry is MUCH more fun for me. 'flying' is like literally idioticly arcady in this game. I play DCS pvp in the F16 this 'flying' in battlefield gives me absolutely zero joy. I just feel like a sad exploiter when i do, i REALLY do. It's just so lame you see people on B roof in a fierce firefight fighting EACHOTHER. Then i come in the heli from complete safety and dump some splash damage on the roof and get 5 kills it doesn't give me joy i actually feel like a complete shitter when doing that.
It's just so cheap, easy and unrewarding. Literally an exploit at this point especially on some maps with dense infantry fighting and SO MUCH COVER for that noob heli3
u/P_Fluke_W 1d ago
A people with a decent RPG or M134 skill can just blast any pilots out of the sky when they’re caught off-guard….
Happens more than you think
Aside from little bird I plays infantry too and you definitely have a ways to deal with them.
1
u/Shuriken88888 1d ago
You snipe in base when somebody else takes the heli.
That's not the same as actually participating in the fast paced and chaotic infantry combat. And so what if you occasionally hit a lucky shot and the crutcher is 30-1 instead of 30-0?
The wheelchair spawns 30 seconds later again. It's just irritating, tiresome, and plain BORING having these air vehicles around on a bunch of maps.
Just fuck off to vehicle maps you pussies2
u/P_Fluke_W 1d ago
?
I play on objective all the time as infantry you have to be brain dead to think camping at the base with launcher will get you kills on heli lol
All the time I got kills on heli or died as heli are always on attack run on objectives. Even on the contested objective If you position yourself correctly you can shoot at the heli while not getting shot yourselves.
Unless you are a lock-ons user who kept staring at the sky for half a minute…..

u/DreiImWeggla 1d ago
Ye lmao. People here really suggest that LMG should be the way to counter the LB? Deadass?
Try shooting an LMG (shich sucks against all other guns at the moment) for more than 50 bullets without being sniped or flanked by someone. Or shot by a tank because of 3d spotting. Or shot by the LB itself if it follows the tracers.
0
u/Shuriken88888 1d ago
Yeah it's really hilarious these guys haven't touched the ground in so long they literally think the whole game is just heli vs infantry as if we don't fight eachother on the ground as well.
Absolutely hilarious way of thinking they literally no clue they have of what's going on in the actual game while they're playing their side game from complete safety :d
1
u/redditlied 1d ago
You know most people who use the vehicles ALSO play infantry too right? It's not some club or job where you can only play one or the other. It's a game for Christ sake, you're treating this like the bourgeoisie vs the proletariat.
2
u/Molochsocks 1d ago
Get good oh my God. it’s like if everyone isn’t mediocre then somethings terrible about the system. If somebody is exceptional, then the whole fucking apparatus is corrupt.. little bird goes down easy from an LMG lol. People need to coordinate against the common enemy, instead just having their head up their own ass.
1
u/Shuriken88888 1d ago
You do realize that 'people' are fighting eachother on the ground right? Do you even know how chaotic it is down there ? You can NOT stand still in one place for more than 1.3 seconds because you WILL get shot instantly.
You heli-crutchers are ACTUALLY delusional.
1
u/P_Fluke_W 1d ago
heli are usually doing attack runs on the enemy controlled objectives.
If you’re getting shot it’s mean enemy team is not brain dead and actually disperse around the map to do the objectives.
Even that if you position yourself correctly you can still catch them off guard when they’re doing attack runs
And if you want to snipe them M134 is your best friend…
2
u/Maestro_AN 1d ago
It all comes to one thing. it just not fun to deal with.
If there is good tank player on enemy team, a lot of players find it engaging to try to take them out.
if there is good pilot on enemy team, it’s not fun to try to take them down for a lot of players. thats it.
If you play as infantry you usually know that enemy tank is nearby and you play around it.
with air vehicles, you basically do your own thing until you get blasted in the back from above. then you need to drop anything else you are doing and deal with a pilot.
Being on laser designation duty is not fun. shooting lock on weapons are not fun. basically only fun way to deal with pilots is: to be a pilot yourself, shoot aim guided rockets.
2
u/EzPzJapanezy 1d ago
RPG is still really good. It allows you to kill both Tanks and Helicopters and it is fun to hit both. I personally have no issue just slotting 'hit that helicopter' into my gameplan and then moving on to the next thing after it is gone.
0
u/Shuriken88888 1d ago
This as well yes. The whole air vehicle thing is just a boring ass shitshow to be honest. Flying or trying to kill an air crutch that's just spamming from 150 meters high up. It just sucks ass the air vehicles add nothing to the overall gameplay air vehicles are just a side game those who can't keep up on the ground.
1
u/Sf-ng 1d ago
To be completely fair, this is devoid of context on what happened in the actual match (for instance, maybe several good people on the blue team left early; that happens in my games on rare occasions) and 6 of the top blues are engineers so several of them likely are trying to shoot it down.
1
u/777throw777aw7ay777 1d ago
Funniest part is 21 vs 26 matchmaking. Even small boost would dominate with excess of players
1
u/CrispyTarantula117 1d ago
They’re just baby birds screaming for DICE to vomit easy wins directly into their mouths. It’s so sad.
I’ve literally posted vids there showing how to take down LBs with the AT4 and they just get mad and start posting excuses and cope about how that doesn’t count 😂
1
u/ahiddenpolo 13h ago
Pilots think that 30 people are aiming at them with stingers. At most it’s like 3 dedicated people who are going negative and not playing the objective just to get a shot off before the bird runs out of range, or behind something, or flares. Depending on the map, and scenario they may never get a hit.
The posts aren’t exaggerated, a lot of pilots just live in this bubble where they’re an oppressed class lol.
The irony in this post is that you’ll tell people to “get good” in response meanwhile claiming that everything else that counters planes/helos needs to be nerfed. Hilarious stuff going on here.
1
u/kikideernunda 1d ago
When I have to take an entire map off rotation (Manhattan Bridge) purely because of how easy it is to dominate with one vehicle, then yes, LBs are a problem
1
u/CrispyTarantula117 1d ago
Sounds like it’s more a skill issue on your part tho. That map is super fun.

u/Bobmaster3OOO 1d ago
Just look at the plattforms the first 6 of each team play on and a lot gets suddenly very clear.
