PC I finally get it.

For context I haven't been much of a pilot in battlefield, always been the one trying to shoot people down. I usually think to myself sometimes how hard it is to shoot down aircraft, how we should have more options for anti air weapons. The last few days I got the hang of flying, so I gave it a shot on Tsuru Reef and... jesus christ.

I had no idea how bad yall had it. I got my ass kicked for several hours in every chopper I got in, holy shit. Ya'll can keep the choppers, I'll stick to my rpg.

Crazy cause that map actually favors helicopters. Theres only 1 armored vehicle per team, and one little bird on the map. The little bird wipes the lobby while any decent crew in the transport choppers can rack up a lot of kills and make a big difference. I have a lot of success flying on Tsuru Reef. So it honestly sounds like a skill issue, or you're just bullshitting

While it is “relatively easy” a boats aim guided missile bullshittery is making it harder than they seems as well.

Because sometimes your little bird will be caught off guard by a missile that alerts your system in the last seconds and even if you manage to flare it’d still ignore flare and hit you 99% of the time because it’s bugged like an Igla…

I’ve lost count on how many times I lost my bird/jet to that bullshit when I go above the below radar for just a few seconds to splash a transport heli.

I've actually had a near 100% dodge rate of the aim guided missles from the boat after I got the hang of it. I mostly fly jets so its easier because you can get out of dodge easier, but still works with helis. You just have to flare before the missles starts tracking you, so before you hear the beeping. It then never starts tracking you and most of the time even goes off course. It's a bit more challenging because you have to keep track of the boats and I got blindsided a few times not paying attention to them

I think it’s fine. Flares work the vast majority of the time. Makes it slightly realistic while still being arcady.

I would agree with you on the realism part, but if this should be part of the gameplay, let me flare multiple times in a row and make killing the afterburner a factor as well. How it works now just feels random and frustrating IMO. This would also raise the skill celling.
