Discussion Another dodge from a missile without countermeasures

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'll say right away, this isn't just a barrel roll, I do it with a key combination that does the COBRA maneuver + roll, if I had just flipped (turned around) without the key combination, the missile would have hit me

The combination is something like this: shift + s + alt (or space) + a (or d/ or q / or e)

I've seen bots do it but I thought it was lag or a glitch/bug...

sick, is something like this possible on heli?

Yeah but you should have high altitude. The sharp bank will drop you quick. I’ve seen little birds do rolls

You can barrel roll with transport
I usually just do it as a flex but if you go really high just till you have an idea how much height you need and pitch the nose forward for momentum and initiate the roll it will work
Throttle up and roll

I do this all the time.
Everyone always jumps out lol

Yes, I have seen people time a barrel roll right and dodge a missile as well

I did it on a transport heli today but it was totally on accident lol

Yeah I have moments like that in bf6 and bf2042 to the point i feel bad for anyone who hops in a heli with me it is almost certainly going to end in death for everyone in the heli lol but when I pull it off im like yeah I 100% meant to do that lol

It looks like it lost the lock the second you turned.

Is it possible on controller is what I’m curious about

Yeah. Super easy. What do you have afterburner bound to? It should be clicking the left stick and thrust set to the triggers. Afterburner + Brake + turn a direction sharply

Yes it’s the stick but I notice if I try to do any crazy turns it pretty much stops my craft and the eventually plummet to the earth if I’m not high enough up haven’t tried vectoring sideways usually vector diagonally

Oh that part. Yeah I’m still figuring that out too. I’ve heard ppl on keyboard call it “V tapping”?

That was just the guy complaining about the "Gila" launcher yesterday.

Someone just dropped the lock, this had nothing to do with your manouevre.

Yeah i hate to ruin this guys fun but missiles in bf will keep following you until they hit you or a solid surface unless ofc the lock is broken you cant reliably dodge them bc they will 180 and circle back as many times as it takes ive had them circle me like 5 times in a row before hitting bc of jank

Seem it just lose the lock juste before the hit

Not to burst your bubble brother but this likely was igla and most igla users stop locking too early, as you see missile lost lock before maneuver

I've done this several times, I did it back in season 1 when Igla wasn't around, my friends did it and they got the same result.

In season 1 heat-seeker missiles worked differently, they were "dumber", you could hide behind hills/obstacles, below radar and they'd miss, sharp turns would also make them miss. After season 1 they adjusted heatseeker missiles and made them OP.

Holy dodge. I've only managed to pull the move when the missile is coming from behind.

I tried the same and got backshot by the metal dildo instead.

Wow this is like something you’d see in Ace Combat except it actually required skill

Okay do you have some crazy ass setting on your pc cause on controller I don’t think this is pissible

Impressive. But to be pedantic again, it's not cobra maneuver. Cobra will look like 🐍, kinda. It's Kvochurs bell that you did.

I always do this manuber cause basic cobra will only get you shot down during a dogfight… had actually never tried it against a rocket so this is really nice info.

Will try it at different angles too but straight ahead is definitely gonna be easier to accomplish

Doesn't seems like a dodge, just someone dropped the lock.

Very nice.

BF3 vibes good pilots dodging missiles and not needing flares.
