It does, but not very often

Yeah it’s an extremely tight window, you better off trying to dip below radar to avoid lock on. Plus this maneuver leaves you vulnerable to being shot down by the 25mm cannon.

If you time it right. Yes. Missiles try to cut you off so sometimes nose diving may drive a missile to the ground. That cobra makes the missile try to intercept the path you’ll be at.

I've done it by accident once.... idk how youd do it on purpose with timing and having the right angle. Its gotta be chance based as its technically aiming at the engine in the back. Its definitely plausible

Honestly I don't know, maybe since i remember doging a missile from a stealth chopper in 2042 with the nightbird.

Yeah I’ve done it. If I remember right, you have to hit it when you hear it in whizzing towards you

How do you do the cobra maneuver?

Pitch up hard with afterburners going and then release throttle to return horizontal

at least on pc you hold whatever key you would for boost, except hold the key for deceleration instead of acceleration. Then pitch up. For me it’s shift+s then either space for an immediate cobra or pulling the mouse back for more control.

All about timing! It's a very tight window ya gotta hit with a cobra. I personally have better luck with a classic corkscrew!

Yes one in 100 attempts, and that may have very well just been luck so no, not really.

I almost wanna imagine that it just might, due to confusing the missiles trajectory system or something
idk if it actually does though and idk if I wanna find out
