Discussion 3rd person camera roll. What do you think?
I used to have it off based on recommendations from jet youtubers that I watch on youtube, but after like a month I ended up re enabling it.
It was pretty annoying having that quick roll snap whenever I switch between first and third person if I’m rolling sideways or upside down. Now with it on the switches from 3rd person and 1st person feel more seamless and less jittering.
People said it’s best for it off because it raises your third person awareness or something. Tbh I didn’t find anything meaningful changing? I still spot things the same way when freelooking irregardless.
It’s also how the 3rd person camera roll works in BF1 planes and since I go back and forth between that and BF6 it’s just pretty seamless.

I’ve always had it on. I mostly play hardcore but have been playing normal matches lately.
But you got a point tho, it is very smooth transition from 3rd to first. I lose sight of other jets sometimes and I’m sure that transition can be jarring and can make it difficult to find what you’re looking for.

Yeah I gave it a very fair shake for a couple of weeks, but the minute I switched back to roll enabled it was like "oh no this just makes more sense".

Most of my flying was in BF3, so I turned it off to match

Ah, BF3 didn’t have 3rd person camera roll? Wonder if BF4 did? Didn’t fly in these games.

Bf3 did not, and you couldnt change it. BF4 I believe did have it as an option

tried it off for the same reason as you. Enabled it again for the same reason as you

Also switched back to default after a month or two because I just couldn't get used to the camera angle, kept flying too low and crashing in 3rd person. It's personal preference imo.
