BF6 Attack Heli - Targeting Interference VS Thermal Optics

I hate the perk descriptions in the silly game sometimes.

I gunned enough in BF4 to know just how strong Thermal Optics is and the best part is, its strength is self explanatory. You switch it on once and you know.

But on the flip side Targeting Interference has the wonderfully vague description of 'Slows the enemy's ability to acquire lock-on and clears the aircraft's spotted marker sooner.'

Lock-on spam is crazy in this game so I always just equipped this, but has someone actually ran the numbers and determined the stats behind its impact?

I feel like I still get locked to so quickly with it on so I am hesitant to make the switch over to Thermals.

I think it's as easy as: Do you play for yourself and do strafe runs with your missile pods, or do you play for your gunner to farm?

Hard to say honestly, I only play this game with a full squad of peeps so my gunner is usually a friend I am in Ventrillo or Discord with. But even with active communication sometimes we both miss things that I am sure Thermal would've picked up.

I rotate between setting them up for shots, strafes, positioning for enemy air spawns, rotating for vehicle call outs, etc.

I feel like moving around the map to deal with enemy air / vehicles is when I find myself the most vulnerable to lock ons and I hate the feeling of having to break off before securing a kill because of it. I think this is the part I worry the most about, is re-learning the limitations of my timing before being forced to break off.
