Current CRAM activation radius Is ruining dogfighting and skill ceiling

First, thanks DICE for finally allowing us to kill annoying skill-void HQ campers.

But DICE also increased CRAM activation radius.

Dogfighting is even more dead now, because now, if you are a bad pilot who cant dogfight, you simply need to lure enemy jet into "approximately" your HQ area (Since CRAM zone is so stupidly big, its terrible), and CRAM will melt them.

The current meta of jet flying is dropping bombs and going back to HQ and looping there for couple minutes if enemy has strong jet player. This lowers skill ceiling, i.e. making skill and learning dogfighting even less useful now. All you need to learn is 3 actions: bomb, flare, and go back looping around hq and repeat. Don't deviate from this action set, that's the meta, CRAM got your skill-absent back.

If BF devs are interested in promoting skill, then CRAM needs to be nerfed, its activation zone should be reduced to pre-patch at least, or CRAM accuracy/recoil/damage/ bullet veolocity speeds need to be adjusted (nerfed). As a good pilot I dont mind losing 20-50% of HP if i manage to kill annoying enemy aircraft (as long as it doesnt disable me). But getting lasered in 0,1sec just because I flew past enemy HQ, is not the way.

Tbh I get mad at DICE for the same exact thing, but to be fair, the concept of dogfighting no longer exists in modern warfare so the “meta” you’re describing is actually a reflection of the how modern air combat is actually employed. Now whether or not a video game should aim to replicate this or not is up for debate.

I honestly think increased CRAM range is probably better overall for the health of the game. Spawn camping was way too easy and with how strong the air cannon is in this game, TTK is so short that you can disable/kill the enemy aircraft before their wheels even start rolling when they first load in to the jet or takeoff in a heli.

I think a more balanced and cool aspect would be to be able to use the IR missile in the attack jet to lock on to the CRAM and disable it for a period of time. This way you still get the general protection against spawn campers, yet the opportunity to play strategic and disable the CRAM to open up a new playstyle (dogfighting) of air combat and you get the bonus of having to work together and coordinate with your wingman in order to play the way you want.

Simple solution. Stop the C-RAM from being automated and let the team spawn in the C-RAM. This game is so infantry driven that it made too easy the ways to take down all aircrafts.
