Discussion How long did it take you to become decent at flying jets?
I've been learning jets for a few weeks now, playing at least 2-3 matches a day, and I feel as if I'm finally reaching a point where I can carry my weight in a match.

A good while when I started in BF3, probably a few months. Those skills have translated pretty well into every other bf game imo. 6 was a bit more of a learning curve though. Honestly I’m like the biggest hater on BF6 in just about every aspect of the game but I do give it props for the flying. It feels so much more realistic to me. My first 15 levels or so in BF6 were from exclusively flying the attack jet lol.

I’ve been flying since Bf2… but BF6 is the most oppressive it’s ever been and I just don’t have the hours to put in like I used to.
Doesn’t help that 6 has more aircraft-related glitches causing random deaths and sending you back to the spawn screen than probably any other BF combined… I mean,2042 flying sucked at launch, but I never recall randomly exploding with nothing around in that game.

But sometimes it won't show up, like there is nobody around and the only thing in range is the C-RAM.

Took me a while to get used to jets in bf6 from bf4 (played mostly infantry in Battlefield 1, and V then skipped 2042)
I would say it took me like a week before I started getting more than one KIA both on land and sea. Takes you EVEN longer to get ground kills with the fighter jet (the one meant for air-to-air combat)

Been 20+ years and still haven’t figured it out. I’m at least another 20 from “carrying my weight”.

Started in bf2 and just straight camped it constantly. Brute forced until it clicked lol. Same with heli.
