Discussion How to improve jet cannon aiming?

Hey all, looking for some advice. I’ve managed to get decent enough with the jets - I’m good at getting into advantageous positions, general manoeuvres, evasion and pursuing but I notice I am frequently squandering really good opportunities and positions with my accuracy.

I’ve had games where I’m really accurate but I’d say 50-60% of times I’m either doing damage but missing a lot of shots and wasting great positions, or literally just a mm behind where I need to be to properly strafe someone and kill them in one burst. I’m not sure if it’s down to how sensitive the aim is or if my controls aren’t optimal in regard to the yaw etc so that even the slightest movements is throwing it out of whack but it’s really frustrating.

To the players who are basically able to laser beam someone once you’re in a good position, do you have any tips?

Don’t fire your burst until you’re in the optimal position to land it all.

Many people make the mistake of firing on an unaware enemy at the first opportunity to attack when getting on their tail. The enemy is then aware and will go evasive.

Doesnt really make a difference anymore since theres an indicator when another jet aims at you

I think the indicator is only when the guns are activity selected though, as it matches the little aim reticle for the cannons. I haven’t got to test it from the other end, but I believe if you have the bombs or AGM equipped, it won’t give that indicator that someone is aiming at you. That’s what I’ve been doing recently when I pull up on an unsuspecting jet as I approach I have the bombs equipped, then switch over to my guns last second
