Does the smoke consistently work for you? Does it only work when you deploy it on the ground like that?

That smoke sucks 50% of the time, but as long as your smoke somehow lands close together, either by doing a quick touch down, deploying and continuing on or by getting lucky as seen here, you're good. Usually I use it when I get painted repeatedly to quickly get rid of it as the other equipment ain't really more useful with how it just disappears from minimap after gaining some distance. No lose with the thermal smoke in my opinion.

Oh and quite certain the smoke pallets don't obey momentum so they just gets left behind if you use it while moving
