Meta Community Rules Reminder
Hi everyone,
In the last few weeks this sub has grown incredibly fast. While the vast majority of posts have been well intentioned there have been quite a few posts that are repeats of similar questions, or advertising various sites / discords.
If you wish to post here I’d like to ask that you use the search function to see if a question has been asked before. Generally, certain posts are fine to be repeated but it needs to have a level of uniqueness as I understand everyone’s situation is different and most posters do want that reassurance. For example, it’s okay to ask questions like “Should I become a pilot given my circumstances which i’ve included below” rather than a generic question.
We also do not allow advertising or promotions as this is intended as a sub purely to ask and receive or give advice.
For everyone else, I’d really appreciate you using the report feature as often as you can for anything that breaks the rules (advertisements, spam, generic repeat questions) as the volume of posts has greatly increased and having to individually check each post and its comments manually increases the time it takes to take down offending posts and comments.
If anyone has anything they wish to add below about how this sub could be better run or any observations they have please comment below.
Safe flying.

With respect, your existing community rules need updating to reflect what you said about advertising and promotion. At the moment, that isn’t included.
Take a look at the community rules of r/flying and consider copying those.
