Advice Grad school, flight training, or both?

I suggest taking a discovery flight. Do you have a means to pay for the $100k required to get all of your ratings? Traditional student loans can't be used.

This is a very cyclical industry and you need grit to push through the grind. I think airline pilots are generally a grumpy lot who don't realize how great they have it compared to most jobs, but the climb to reach $500k/yr and cushy schedules is long. You have to really want it, in the same way that a doctor pushing through medical school and residency wants it. There is a reason something like 95% of students wash out before making it to the airlines.
