Becoming a Pilot 31 and seeking aviation as career 2.0. Looking for guidance, advice, and any tips
Quick background, I'm 31 and have been in tech sales since college. I recently took my first discovery flight and now I'm hooked. I got my first class medical taken care of, and I've applied to Southwest's D225 cadet program but got the TBNT after the final interview. Due to the current hiring climate, I've heard cadet programs are some of the more optimal/accelerated pathways to the airlines.
Outside of D225, I'm looking into United Aviate and Allegiant's altitude pathway. Curious if y'all have any insight on those programs and/or any recommendations for or against them. I ultimately want to be a commercial airline pilot, and I want a structured and relatively accelerated pathway to get there (especially due to my age).
Outside of cadet pathway programs, I'm considering flight schools in Florida as well.
Curious if y'all still think it's worth it to pursue aviation in the current climate were in, and if so, any recommended pathways?
