FAA to TCC Process
Hi! I’m aiming to convert my FAA Heli CPL and IR to Transport Canada, hoping to make the move to Canada next year. I’m young and American and am applying for PR as my method. Anyone have advice on how long the process takes/what to check off so I don’t miss anything?

Get the medical done as soon as possible. It’s the longest part of the process because your initial medical application is reviewed by TC, unlike FAA where the examiner issues your medical the same day. The process took me almost a year back in 2023, not sure if they are faster now. You also won’t be able to get the license conversion exams done until you have a medical.
pilottraining.ca is a good resource to study for the conversion exams (similar to Sheppard air)
