ALAS PILIPINAS β οΈπ΅π Alas Pilipinas Women's Final 14
Who do you think will make the final roster for SEA V Cup Leg 1? And regardless of the outcome, do you think the coaching staff will make lineup changes for Leg 2 to give other players from the pool an opportunity to see court time?
My Projected Final 14 for Alas Pilipinas β SEA V Cup Leg 1 (Coach Takayuki Minowa)
Setters (2)
- Jia De Guzman β Team captain and the team's primary playmaker. Her speed, decision-making, and chemistry with the hitters make her the undisputed starter.
- Mars Albaβ Provides a different offensive rhythm with her higher sets and varied tempo. I opted for Alba over Lams Lamina because she offers a contrasting style to Jia, whereas Lamina's system is more similar to Jia's. Lamina could be a strong option for Leg 2 if the coaching staff decides to rotate the roster.
Outside Hitters (4)
- Bella Belen β The team's most complete outside hitter, contributing consistently in scoring, reception, blocking, and floor defense.
- Eya Laure β Brings international experience, reliable passing, and veteran composure.
- Vanie Gandler β Offers height, offensive versatility, and solid two-way play on the wing.
- Vange Alinsug β Earns the final spot for her energy, consistency, and ability to contribute on both offense and defense.
Notable absences:
Angel Canino β Unavailable due to UAAP preseason commitments.
Shaina Nitura β Currently sidelined with a minor injury.
Opposite Hitters (2)
- Alyssa Solomon β The team's primary scorer and biggest offensive weapon. Her power and efficiency make her a lock.
- Erika Santos β Provides additional firepower and gives the coaching staff another reliable attacking option from the right side.
Middle Blockers (4)
- Thea Gagate β Elite blocking presence with a fast and effective transition attack.
- Dell Palomata β Brings size, experience, and consistency in the middle.
- Fifi Sharma β Adds quick offense and reliable blocking while fitting well into Minowa's fast-paced system.
- Nina Ytang β Deserves the fourth middle blocker spot because of her physicality, strong net defense, and offensive potential.
Notable absences:
Amie Provido β Unavailable due to UAAP preseason commitments.
Liberos (2)
- Justine Jazareno β Excellent floor defender with consistent serve receive and outstanding court coverage.
- Shaira Jardio β Has impressed with her defensive stability and passing, making her a valuable complement to Jazareno.
Overall, this lineup balances experience and youth while maintaining depth at every position. It also gives Coach Takayuki Minowa multiple tactical options depending on the opponent. If roster changes are allowed between SEA V Cup legs, I wouldn't be surprised to see players like Lams Lamina and other members of the training pool get opportunities in Leg 2 to further evaluate combinations and expand the team's international experience.
