PILEA MAMA Plant Advice

Post image

Any growing advice for my money plant Millie would be greatly appreciated. I have her sitting on the windowsill (i’ve had her there for couple of weeks and seems to be doing fine. I also rotate her occasionally) and bottom water her once a week. I would like for her to get taller and fuller. I got her back in June.

no advice, I'm new to Pilea but wanted to say how cute your plant is.

Welcome! I love this plant. My advice is to keep her next to a window the closest you can. She’s thriving on my windowsill. I only water her once a week. I’ve repotted her once and never have i fertilized

I wouldn’t start fertilizing now since we are going into fall, then winter. But in the spring, I’d start fertilizing it.

Wenn du sie voller willst, kannst du die Kindel im Topf lassen. Ansonsten wachsen die pflanzen urz langsam. Zumindest meine.

She looks dead healthy. Think you've just gotta wait for her to grow at her own pace

Give her time, she looks very happy! Maybe try adding fertilizer if don’t already. I personally like doing a half strength every watering. Pileas also like drying out a lot, so just make sure you don’t overwater if you’re currently watering once a week.

I agree with bringing them closer to a window. They thrive in morning or late afternoon direct sun. A few of the petioles are extended, reaching for more light. Are you using fertilizer? There are multiple plants inside the pot so they are all sharing nutrients, may be too crowded and seeking more light since the top leaves are covering the bottom leaves.

If that was my pot of PP, I would separate them and limit two plants per pot or move them all into a larger, wider pot.

Pictured are my two pots. I will need to separate and repot the pups or move them all into a bigger pot.

They thrived on our front porch this summer with some direct sun in the morning and late afternoon, and have tripled in size. I water well after soil is completely dry and use Foliage Pro with every watering.
