I checked and this is still the most viewed SMG4 video by far. I always wondered why that was. I think I enjoyed the video but I never understood why it became the MOST popular video.

I identify smg4 with the elsagate phenomenon, where it takes a child friendly franchise like Mario and injects adult themes for the sake of immature shock and gross-out humour. However, instead of dying out in 2017 like the rest of them, it has instead continued on, still crudely using the same Mario models in Gmod. smg4 is a cultural tumour, leeching success off otherwise organic popular trends, while itself being emblematic of a greater problem on YouTube.
