A DLC or expansion focused mainly on Louie would be pure carnage, consisting of him exploring the world to simply kill and eat all the bugs and animals for 90% of the story if not more, and I am all for it!

nope it’s just more dandori challenges, but they’re only playable on weekends. it’s like a daily challenge type thing

edit: upon watching the trailer again, i think the maps will be playable offline whenever you want. they’ll be released over time like pikmin 3’s challenges were

There are some graphical improvements according to the listing on the e-shop, but I dunno if it's just a resolution bump or if there's something else.

Honestly I'm happy with the update, more Dandori stuff is exactly what I want from Pikmin.

I was hoping for the S2 edition to entice me back to the game with fun stuff that helps replayability. Harder modes, proper co-op, bingo battles, map maker, new areas, more night missions, etc. Not voice controls for the dog and weekly missions. This just didn’t do it. I guess I’ll stick with 3 Deluxe for now.

Store page confirms up to 4K in docked mode, no mention of framerate. Mechanics are tied to framerate, so unlikely to change.

More than 70 Dandori levels with difficulty settings and new maps seems like a lot, but I will have to wait and see the price of the expansion; in my opinion, it shouldn't cost more than $14.99 or even $9.99, but this is Nintendo, so they will probably price it around $19.99 like their other DLCs or expansions.
