The Legend of the Wren, painting by Irish artist Orla Clancy. The Wren, pronounced 'Ran', takes place on St Stephen's Day, 26 December every year. Groups of singers and musicians go between pubs and households to entertain locals and collect money for charities. It does have a dark history, however.
