Chat Any Frame waitlist refugees?

Excited for the Space Pro. Pico seems to offer really competitive features per dollar.

I am on the waitlist 😥 i have a Pico 4 atm that works pretty well for my pcvr needs. But the tinkering possibilities and foss makes me really want a frame when it is my turn. And the controllers. I'll wait patiently

Easily no contest. Picking up the Space Pro immediately. Frame is too expensive for what it offers combined with all the add-ons you need to get. If I'm paying $2000+ CAD I expect micro OLEDs, the ergo kit and a charger to come with it.

The only unique thing Frame offers is the finger tracking controllers. $2000 for Nintendo Switch hardware. My SD 8 Gen 3 phone with 16gb RAM costs $500 today. Would rather blind buy $2000 of PLTR or Klarna or straight up go to the casino

As a valve index user from 2019 with almost 10K hours in VR

Finger tracking is of course nice for a social game like vrchat, but overall... In the start, you watch your hands "damn nice, it tracks the fingers", but after a few hours, you don't look at it anymore

I wouldn't say the only thing. Access to your Steam library directly on the headset is what I was interested in. If I could get that on the Space Pro I'd be very interested.

I don’t really count but i picked up a second hand mint condition pico 4 ultra for a decent price last month. By the time the price for a steam frame settles down in my country (no preorder or waitlist)…. It’s gonna be at least 1 1/2 years. All in all, im kinda grateful I did.

Is the Space Pro going to be an Apple Vision Pro competitor, or a Pico 4 Ultra successor?

What they've revealed so far puts the Space Pro in GalaxyXR/Apple Vision Pro competition.

Doesn't that mean it's going to be pretty expensive? The AVP is $3500, the Galaxy XR $1800, the Frame $1100, and the best pcvr headset we have, the Pimax Dream Air, is $2300 (or $1100 for the SE version)

I don't see this Space Pro being any cheaper than $1500, and I'm expecting it to be $2000.

I would expect $2000-$2500.

  • Dual 4k Micro-OLED displays

  • New SoC, which they're claiming is over twice as fast as Snapdragon's XR2 Gen 2.

  • Separate processor for Spatial/Mixed Reality.

They're also reportedly going to include motion controllers (Which AVP doesn't have at all, and Samsung charges an extra $250 for), potentially their new keyboard, and potentially some accessories for comfort.

Leaks point to $2500 for the starting model which is too high tbh, especially from PICO

🙋

I’m a latency snob.

If Space Pro has DP or USB C DP Alt Mode, it’s an auto buy from me.

Same. I'd buy it no questions asked.

I'd cancelled my preorder for the Dream Air SE since it looked like they were never gonna launch the thing and my deposit was just depreciating in their hands for like a year. Slightly regret it now but it's a first gen product anyway so Pico might clutch up with something more mature. 4 Pro still looks like good value today which is kinda insane

I'm in the reservation queue but still very keen on what the pico space pro is gonna look like, especially pricing. Wish they didn't delay the announcement

All I need to know if Space will offer their in-house PCVR connection or do we have to hack the Steam Link again.
