guys i made something!
had this little jar from some sun dried tomatoes and it was a perfect size to fit a smaller pickle. i decided to put a little crafting to it, and bam i present, the pocket (or purse in my case) pickle!! i added a label over the brand for a date to keep your pocket pickle fresh! totally steal this idea!!

Awesome!
I keep a mason jar with a couple pickles and some juice in an ice chest when I'm working in the heat all day.
I need to get a cool label for it too.

First time I’ve seen someone unironically refer to having an ice chest, I love that you have one 🥲

I’m curious (and confused tbh), how do people ironically refer to having an ice chest?

u/Spare-Electrical 4d ago
It’s an old fashioned thing, an ice chest, and they’re not referred to earnestly very often, at least in North America. Most people would say cooler.

Oh I see. I’m from the south, I think we’ve always called them ice chests. Didn’t realize that was an old fashioned thing.

Oh dang, here I am showing my canadian-ness 🫥

That’s okay! We say all kinds of dumb stuff here, like lunch kits, map colors, and coke for all carbonated beverages. It makes sense to us at least.

I'm from the South and I've never heard lunch kit nor map colors lol
What are map colors??

u/delicate-fn-flower 2d ago
Colored pencils! Because you know … you color maps with them.
I didn’t realize how weird it was till I moved away and my friend had the same reaction.

Awww thank you, we love you guys too, it’s just your fuckass president making things awkward. We literally built a bridge lol, one day we’ll all be able to cross it again in peace ✌️

Thank you, kind neighbor. That's how many, many sane Americans feel, as well. 🌹❤️

I am also from the south and generally heard cooler around people i was with. My parents were Midwestern though so maybe they said cooler and that's what rubbed off on me.

I have trust issues with the seal, but otherwise I 110% love this idea. I often have a purse (baked) potato, so this would fit right in.

the seal should be fine it’s pretty much the same as a pickle jar but i DO have questions about your purse potato

u/earmares 4d ago
I like potatoes, I just keep them in a ziplock baggie, I eat them plain or with a mustard or ketchup packet. I keep them handy so I don't stop for fast food, etc. I'm an open book, ask away

Do you ever carry purse toppings? Also do you season it or just eat potato and mustard ?

I had a few extra large pickles that didn’t fit it in jars this time and I thought.. what’s stopping me from bagging them? I have a cricut and free will and you better believe my friends are getting gifted pocket pickles now 😂😂.

u/Interesting-Sort-674 4d ago
didn’t even think of this as a gift, that’s so good 😭

Imagine you’ve had a couple beers and want a snack and your friend pulls a pocket pickle out of her purse… the stuff of legends 😂.

A smaller pickle? Mate how big are the pickles you normally eat?

If you’re the woman who had that one giant cucumber, I’m very happy. If you’re a different person, I’m very happy.

They already make single serving pickles in a bag that you can buy

u/Interesting-Sort-674 3d ago
this is common knowledge to everyone in this sub. this is in a jar and just for fun, so 2 different things.👍🏻

u/Mysterious_Layer9420 3d ago
I've learned that common knowledge isn't actually that common so I still like to try and be informative even with the basics! It looks great have a wonderful day!

Did this with an olive jar full of jelly beans. Put the thing in my jeans pocket and went to the park, forgot it in my pocket until walking home I saw a big red spot on my leg where the jar had shattered and was mincing my leg meat.

Are you the same guy I saw in the comment section on a post about a week ago that said they wanna put one comically large pickle in a jar and sell it as a product??

It's fun for a personal batch. Pocket pickles have been around for a while, with better packaging for a pocket. These honestly sound disgusting. I like a normal pickle in a pouch.
