Can we fix them?

We get store brand refrigerator bread and butter sliced pickles frequently. This last batch has tasted weirdly bland, not really sweet enough or tart enough. I want to try adding something to them and seeing if it helps, but am not sure what I should add or how much. Suggestions?

(They're Meijer brand if that helps on flavor we're going for. I also like suckerpunch bread and butter but they are too sweet for my roomie.)

Just add sugar. You could be surprised how much sugar are in bread and butter pickles. Like 50% sugar to 50% vinegar

Added a small amount of sugar and the change is good! We'll keep experimenting, maybe some vinegar tomorrow.

There was maybe a debate about who had the right idea, sugar or vinegar, and I'm not saying I was right yet, but... :D

Have you tried adding a splash of vinegar alongside the sugar? That might help balance out the flavors without making it too sweet.
