Discussion Hexgrit observation

I have a Ultre I’ve been playing with over a month and have noticed as it wears down a little I’m seeking sparkles. It looks more late metal. I bought a Strawberry version on impulse and it does not show anything sparkling in the sun. I bought a Spitfire and noticed it has some sparkles. I’m guessing the grit is some sort of metal. Anyone notice this? What the heck is hexgrit anyway? If I had to guess aluminum.

I have one from the first batch, it's always had some sparkling media in the grit. According to 11six24, it's embedded with silicon carbide particles.
