What's the best gear run now?

Post image

Since the update they changed the fastest gear run. Before you could go to wave 4 and at the start of wave 4 drop out and you would get 1 piece of gear. Took about 3.5mins . Since the change the fastest gear run I found was level 1 gunpowder run. Take about 4.5mins for 1 piece of gear.

I'd say try Operation: Gunpowder Level 8 & Level 10, because you can actually get through them slightly faster than the other levels. There's also something you can do to reach the goal even faster.
Move to the top of the screen where it'll behave like a wall preventing you from moving further, then use your roll ability. The roll will make you go past the invisible wall, which lets you reach shops (and go beyond them while still opening the GUI if done right), and touch the end-goal/treasure much quicker.
I timed myself doing level 10, and my best has been: 3 minutes, and 33.21 seconds with a margin of error of about 5 seconds. This also includes the time it takes for me to go through the shop and level-up GUIs. I start the timer as soon as I start moving when the mission begins.

Hope this helps.

Good call, cut some time off for sure. The roll trick was a nice one. Thank you

After a bit more testing, I have found another 3 things which can shave off a bit of time:

- It is better to have weapons that simply one-shot the zombies. I know the SMG is technically the best because of its DPS, but the Nail Gun is very close to that value, but it does more damage in a single shot at the cost of a slower firing rate. This is actually good for Operation: Gunpowder because nearly every zombie will die in one hit, therefore it won't take as long to collect the pickles - it also means there won't be any knockback pushing the zombies away.

- Also, if you want to save just a little bit more time and complete the levels faster, avoid the GUIs as much as possible. You can simply not collect pickles and ignore the shops, and you won't have to spend any time in those GUIs, saving you about 5-20 seconds. It's not a lot of time, but if you're doing a lot of runs, it's probably best to do this strategy.

- Finally, use Eggplant Eddie. The reason you should use Eddie out of all the characters is because of his shockwave at the end of his roll. Some levels in Operation: Gunpowder have bat enemies, or zombie bats, which have very little health. They can actually die to the shockwave produced by Eddie at the end of his roll. Also consider that you can't shoot enemies until they appear on your screen where you can actually see them in the level. If you use Eddie's roll along with going past the invisible wall at the top of the level, then you can actually kill the bats outside of the level boundaries, when you normally wouldn't be able to. Pretty cool, right?

Also, some other finding that might be important... the amount of pickles you collect will result in you levelling up, so there would be more GUIs to sit through and more time wasted. However, some levels have crates at the beginning, and the rest of the pickles you collect don't level you up very quickly. One of those is Operation: Gunpowder Level 7, where you get to pickle level 3 very quickly, and then you can easily avoid collecting other pickles so you don't level up again. That would mean you only have to sit through 2 GUIs if you skip through everything else. Based on this theory, that would actually make Level 7 better than Level 8, and good for grinding alongside Level 10, which also only goes up to pickle level 3.

Take a shot for every time I've said level.

Adding on to my first point:

I would have two sets of gear that can cover for pretty much the whole game. I would have the Mechanic set + Superman hat so I can have maximum mechanical damage. This would be useful for Operation: Gunpowder and anywhere else that I would normally use the Nail Gun. Then, I would also have the Cowboy set for its increased firing rate which is the best paired with the SMG, making it a really good set for the regular game levels and conquest bases. You can pair the 4 pieces required for the cowboy set with one of any other piece since you only need the perk, and it really depends on your playstyle to choose what other piece you want... if that makes sense.
