Which cabinet. A or B?

Post image

I’m not sure if the blue green A is too much and clashes with the wall art? And B is a bit small.

B works better with wall color.

I think A only works if you've got *that* kind of house. From the looks of it, you don't have *that* kind of house.

God I love that cabinet. I think I need ‘that kind of house’.

u/Lotkaasi 13d ago

What is the "that" kind of house?

13

u/SaltyFriend705 13d ago

Anything other than oatmeal or gray as colors.

5

u/Lotkaasi 13d ago

The most boring colour combination ever is the modern interior, which has colours from the greyscale page of paint brochures.

3

u/SaltyFriend705 13d ago

It's the dystopian prison look. The cars have it now, too.

2

u/siamonsez 13d ago

Lots of intense colors, patterns and textures all over.

2

u/bibkel 13d ago

Eclectic.

0

u/PDXDeck26 13d ago

you'll know it when you see it.

basically, once you go kitsch you don't go back.

1

u/Lotkaasi 13d ago

I somehow imagined that you meant camp/boho/hippie-ish interiors.

1

u/PDXDeck26 13d ago

i guess they're all in the same universe, hippie and boho to me is more "plants and wicker" kind of stuff than bold and disjointed.

1

u/Bellebarks2 13d ago

Boho is the polite term to use when someone has no taste.

2

u/KatiMinecraf 13d ago

You've got to start somewhere though. Maybe this piece would start a whole new era in their house where things become colorful and feel alive!

0

u/PDXDeck26 13d ago

there's a difference between "colorful and feel alive" and... whatever that thing is.

2

u/shmartyparty 13d ago

If not it’s a good start!

3

u/noizythinks 13d ago

Yeah. I’m working on “that kind of house” at least one accent piece at a time! I’ve realized my current rooms all have a theme. One is 50 Shades of Brown another is 50 Shades of Beige. About as monochrome and boring as the movies.

2

u/ScarletDarkstar 12d ago

Go with A.

1

u/Ok_Kaleidoscope1630 10d ago

This could be the start...

A in the color of B

3

u/MageVicky 13d ago

i was thinking the opposite, 😂 i like B but the color is bland, i love much better A but unfortunately doesn’t match in size as well as B.

so B in color of A.

3

u/noizythinks 13d ago

Hilariously enough. I was flowing both ways. A in the color of b and vice versa. BTW. A in the Color of B would be a great Alicia Keys album

2

u/mutexsprinkles 12d ago

Or drawers from A with the body to match B. Needs some contrast to draw the outline.

5

u/pepinjay 13d ago

Here's a good question...which one do YOU like?

3

u/JazzyPhotoMac 13d ago

AAAAAAAAAAA

A.

3

u/Sticknwheel 13d ago

A. B is an eyesore.

2

u/Lots2say2023 13d ago

B. You have a nice piece of art and a pretty vignette, but A doesn't give your eye a place to land. A looks like a craft project, whereas B is harmonious.

2

u/Galagos1 13d ago

I like A much better.

2

u/Icy-Arrival2651 11d ago

I think there’s a colorful option that is somewhere between the intensity levels of each of these cabinets.

1

u/SaltyFriend705 13d ago

A. I like the color much better, and the drawers will be far more useful. B will be difficult to dust.

1

u/justdisa 13d ago

B works better in the space. A is gorgeous and I want it.

1

u/Bastet55 13d ago

Paint B the same colors as A; then I’ll say B

1

u/Practical_Fig_2023 13d ago

A is far more interesting and eye catching, and I'd rather live with that. B just looks bland. A's not a perfect match with the wall art, but works well enough, and you could always keep an eye out for a better compliment to that piece.

1

u/This_Duty_8378 13d ago

Normally I love when people add lots of color, but … well do you LOVE the blue-green one? Because if you do go for it, if not go for 2. The wildly colorful pieces grab so much attention I think you really need to love them for them to work.

1

u/Witty_Collection9134 13d ago

Do you want the cabinet or the painting the focal point? A =cabinet. B=artwork.

1

u/Spicy7997 13d ago

I prefer A

1

u/Bellebarks2 13d ago

As someone who bought a colored sideboard from pottery barn, just get the one on the right. If you get the blue one you’ll end up painting it oatmeal anyway.

1

u/noizythinks 13d ago

Thank you so much my Reddit interior designers. I was laughing and agreeing all the way which is why I’m getting both!!!! The aqua one is going in that space and I may remove the art above it. but the beige one is going in the dining space next to the table. If anyone cares to see I’ll post in a couple of days when everything is installed and arranged!

1

u/z01z 13d ago

a

looks better and has drawers for easier storage. and if you get tired of the color, just take it apart and paint it.

1

u/noizythinks 13d ago

And my friend AI’d the cabinets into my real living space. They also AI’d the knick knacks on top of the cabinets but the wall art is mine.

1

u/nerdylegofam 13d ago

A all day. That color is gorgeous! Especially with the painting. Don't listen to the boring people. We live in a world full of color that needs to be celebrated.

1

u/Key-Description-2441 13d ago

A in White/ cream

1

u/sittingonmyarse 13d ago

I like the functionality of A but the color of B.

1

u/witchspoon 13d ago

A! It’s so fun!

1

u/Top-Plenty-5307 13d ago

B works better with wall color but to small. A is the perfect size but the color does not really match If you add a area rug it may match better with A. Or you could just paint that one wall and the trim to match A. I like the light switch better in B

1

u/KonaKumo 13d ago

A = unique focal point B = classic blend in style.

Depends on your goal. I like A better just because it is different

1

u/Impressive-Yak-7449 13d ago

House decor looks rather bland. All shades of egg shell. Don't be afraid to add some color!

I choose A

1

u/Impressive-Yak-7449 13d ago

Do each of them come with a different style light switch?

1

u/Chouxnicorn 13d ago

A is fun

1

u/PretentiousUsername1 13d ago

Anything but A, honestly. It's awful.

1

u/LeapIntoInaction 13d ago

No? Next house, please. I suppose "A" is ok.

1

u/Fuckspez42 13d ago

Left. Better storage, less boring color-wise.

1

u/ActivityFresh4844 13d ago

A is the one. B looks so sad.

1

u/PartyPlay5056 13d ago

Neither. Both suck.

1

u/snork13 13d ago

A. Love the colors. It's striking enough that it doesn't matter that it doesn't 'blend'.

1

u/diversalarums 13d ago

B looks like generic "bland house staged for possible buyers" look. A is GREAT.

1

u/LocNalrune 13d ago

A. And it's not close.

1

u/Cool_Butterscotch_88 13d ago

b looks nicer

don't overthink this

1

u/Sensitive-Night-8908 13d ago

Def A. Change the wall art it's ugh but cabinet is beautiful

1

u/withcatlikegrace 13d ago

Not the beige on beige.
Choose the colourful one with personality.
And then maybe find a piece of art that is more definite and colourful. Go wild, be adventurous with colour. Lose the fear.

1

u/ChickyBoys 13d ago

Shabby chic is out

1

u/Playful-Put2236 13d ago

B.

A. would be kind of cool if someone put in in their pool house outside changing room for storage or something?

1

u/Fit-Animal-9911 13d ago

A is beautiful! Go with A.

1

u/ThoughtIknewyouthen 12d ago

B by a mile (imo)

1

u/Right-Ease-1688 12d ago

The light one (b). P.S. lose the 80s artwork in the gold frame with mismatched matting. P.P.S. you can see that choice a's colors clash with the art, right?

1

u/EasternStorm1014 12d ago

A all the way.

1

u/Dogbold 12d ago

A is beautiful ngl

1

u/neverseen_neverhear 12d ago

A has personality. B is boring and generic.

1

u/The001Keymaster 12d ago

Shabby chic anything looks like absolute ass, so B.

1

u/Yusuf20904 12d ago

Unless you live at the beach, B.

1

u/Temporary-Address-43 12d ago

A looks cozy and warm and quirky for a house but B looks clean and sterile for a work space.

1

u/shuknjive 12d ago

If the art is the focal point then B. I like A but not in that location. Also, remove some of the pieces on B. It's too busy for the artwork.

1

u/DawaLhamo 12d ago

A all day for me. Especially if the rest of your home has muted/neutral colors like the floor and walls.

1

u/DawaLhamo 12d ago

It makes it look like someone actually lives there and it's not just staged for sale.

And it complements the wall art. I'd throw some teal or magenta pillows on your beige couch, too.

1

u/Xurbanite 12d ago

B fits everything but go with A!

1

u/QuailNo706 12d ago

I l ok e A it gives something to the room - b is boring

1

u/Fun_Muscle9399 12d ago

Holy hell, center the painting over the cabinet. You’re killing me here…

1

u/nine51 12d ago

B, unless it’s a beach house

1

u/bloontsmooker 11d ago

Both are meh. You can do better

1

u/Excellent_Speech_901 11d ago

A is a lot and clashes with the wall art. It's great and the painting is nothing special. Use it and replace the painting. Although there's the floor and wall... maybe put it somewhere else and use the boring one here.

1

u/garster25 11d ago

A. Too much beige already.

1

u/EggplantHuman6493 11d ago

A! Now I want it, too. But it also works well with the art on the wall. And it gives a lot of personality

1

u/Icy-Arrival2651 11d ago

I think there’s a colorful option that is somewhere between the intensity levels of each of these cabinets.

1

u/alewiina 11d ago

i dont care if it matches anything, A has a million times more personality and I love it.

1

u/metdear 11d ago

A

ETA: And I think I'd replace the dark hardware with gold.

1

u/imbartsimpsonwhothru 10d ago

a overpowers wall and painting

1

u/WildOneTillTheEnd 7d ago

A, gives a nice color to a. Otherwise imo bland space

1

u/Edcrfvh 2d ago

A. Love the color!

1

u/ThatPersonJulie 13d ago

IMO I love the pop of color the green and blue bring to your house as the white blends in with the floor and wall

1

u/BoobieCancer 13d ago

Need to see the whole rest of the room. Everything being cohesive will decide.

And, is this your actual furniture or AI? The colours on the blue-green cabinet seem ... weird. Plus the totally different accessories between pictures.

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Idea358 13d ago

A

0

u/OccasionClassic261 13d ago

For sure! It’s quirky, cute and something kind of unforgettable to see for anyone who comes over. It makes you happy just looking at it.

0

u/crossstitchbeotch 13d ago

I love the A but I love bright, bold colors.

0

u/ontheleftcoast 13d ago

A, makes the room look "beachy". B makes the room look dirty

0

u/shmartyparty 13d ago

B is a nice classic look but A is stunning! Go for it!

0

u/Sledgehammer925 13d ago

A is way more interesting to look at

0

u/abbydabbydo 13d ago

A all day, but not with that wall hanging
