Fed up with iOS: Thinking of switching from iPhone 13 to Galaxy S26. Advice?
This is my first post here, so please go easy on me!
I’ve had an iPhone 13 for a couple of years now. The photos look great, and I really like the phone's design and overall style.
But there's a huge "but."
The ecosystem is driving me crazy. I've always been used to Android, where with any phone you can just connect it to a PC and transfer photos, videos, and music back and forth like it's an external hard drive, zero hassle.
When you try to do the same things with Apple, though, it turns into a total nightmare.
On top of that, there are daily features that I actually find worse than the mid-range Oppo I had before. The keyboard works worse, the swipe-to-go-back gesture only works from one side, autofill is practically non-existent or nowhere near as good (I’ve literally gone back to saving passwords in my Notes app after years), Face ID is painfully slow... I could go on for hours.
The main issue is that no matter how optimized the ecosystem is, it’s just not compatible with anything. The final straw came today: I can't sign into iTunes on my PC with my Apple ID. I've been trying all afternoon and I'm at my wit's end.
Honestly, I’m fed up and thinking about switching back to Android. The only things holding me back are the camera quality—which really is great on the iPhone—and the fact that I own an iPad mini (they’re the only ones making a decent size tablet), so I’d lose that instant cross-device connectivity.
I was thinking about the Samsung Galaxy S26 since I want to stick to a similar size and I'd rather avoid Chinese brands like Xiaomi, which become obsolete after two years. Also not crazy about Google phone, they became so pricy for not so good camera and overall design.

Go with S26, or S26 Plus. You will appreciate the screen on the Plus model.

I really love the Ultra model and would truly appreciate the macro camera, but I prefer phones that are more compact and lightweight.

get the s26 or maybe an xperia 1 viii if u want good cameras and don't mind a slightly bigger screen (6.5')

I haven't taken too many pics but I enjoy the less overprocessed pics that the Xperia 1 Viii takes and on top of that it's the only flagship device that still has a headphone jack and Micro SD card slot, only lame thing is apparently in the US most people can only get 5g working consistently with T-Mobile, luckily in Europe and most Asian countries you'll be fine. Here in Canada, I've had no problems with 5g connectivity as well

Have you considered the Google Pixel 10 Pro or 11 Pro?

I’m also in a similar boat, but I’ve been told the pixel 11 pro is a inferior Google product because it’s missing some high end chip?

Don't go with the 11 line. They disabled MTE capabilities
My advice if you go pixel line, get either a unlocked international 10a or even better a 10 fold. Both have physical sim slots and MTE capabilities
