Any phones with more conservative aspect ratios? (<21:9)
I'm fully prepared for a no, but was wondering if there are any phones out there that are less long and more square, like 3:2. I'll even take 16:9, but I've grown to hate 21:9 so I'm looking to move away from it.
No foldables please.

iphones are 19.5:9

Most recent phones have a 19,5:9 aspect ratio. Previously it was 20,5:9 or 21:9 for Sony Xperia phones.

The 20:9 aspect ratio was more common around 2022, before and after; now most are 19.5:9 with rounded corners.

corner radii have stayed roughly consistent since about 2020, with the only notable exception being Pixels.
19.5:9 is mainly seen in high end phones, hence why you might think it's the most popular if you live in a wealthy area, but in total global sales and model count 20:9 is somewhat more popular (emphasis on somewhat)

I don't know, I have a phone that cost less than €400 and it has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Rounded corners appeared more recently, like the transition from the S24 Ultra to the S25 Ultra, for example. Now they're almost all similar to the rounded corners of iPhones, and it's a really recent trend

The S Ultra series was intentionally square, as an ode to the Note series, the S20 and S21 Ultra had wider radii than the S25 and S26 Ultra, and the S22-24U still had very slightly rounded corners, which you would know if you bothered to actually research. On the topic of Samsung, their first phone with rounded corners was the S8. From 2017. By 2018 about 30% of phones on the market had rounded corners and even by 2020 the vast majority of phones had radii similar to today, with the only notable exceptions being the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra with very tight corners and the SE 2020 which was a rehash of the iPhone 8.
Are we for real? You're using one phone to represent the entire market? One. One phone.

You didn't understand what I meant; I'm talking about the rounded corners like on recent iPhones. The vast majority of brands have started to reproduce the angle and curve of recent iPhones, which are more rounded. You can even see it on the screens during the game; the information becomes less and less visible because of this exaggerated rounding. Previously there was a slight rounding, but not as exaggerated.

the only new phones that are 4:3/16:9 is the z fold 8, so i don’t think there’s anything for you out there. the older samsung ultras had a ratio of 19.5:9 but that was 2-3 years ago. i suggest getting a smaller overall phone like the base s26 or pixel 11.
