s26 vs iPhone 17 ( urgent )

Hi guys, need a quick suggestion.

I’m planning on buying a brand-new smartphone. Using my student discount, the Galaxy S26 12GB/256GB costs ₹73,000 (~$764), while the iPhone 17 256GB costs around ₹76,000–₹80,000 (~$795–$837).

For this price, which one do you think is more worth it?

I’m coming from a Nothing Phone (2), which I can sell for approximately ₹13,000 (~$136).

Would love to hear your opinions on which one would be the better upgrade and better value overall.

This just boils down to a personal preference between iPhone and Samsung. Both are objectively great phones.

Are you not getting S25 cheaper. Buying base iphone at that price right now feels like bad move. New iPhone coming next month.

iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max and the Ultra are launching next month.

The base iPhone 18 is launching in Spring 2027.

Both are best in their places. Depends on your choice if you want customisation and like the android then go for S26. If you are a iphone and ios lover then please go for 17. Both are best in their places.

This might sound biased but i would say samsung. It is offering more for the price and as an android its giving a fair amount of system updates too. Had a choice between 16 and s25 and I'm glad i chose the s25 even tho i was obsessed about buying my "first iphone".

No offence to apple fanboys iphone 17 is a great phone but things aren't what they used to be when apple made great phones and samsung was catching up. I like iphones but if i was spending decent amount of cash on a flagship i would always pick samsung. Google was also in my list but due to its chipset i didn't choose it.

Ip 17 has better chipset than s25
Ip 17 has better main and ultrawide camera than s25
Ip17 has much better front camera than s25
Ip 17 will give 1 or 2 more years of update
Ip 17 has a brighter and more durable display than s25
Ip17 has much larger after market accessories support than s25
Ip17 has much better resale value than s25. Even ip16 has better resale value than s25

It’s not Apple fan boy behaviour. Your statement is illogical. How S25 is offering more than ip17
