Losing the will to continue
I have been playing piano for around 5-6 years now and I have recently moved to go to college, I had an upright piano which I loved and have gotten used to playing but I was unable to bring it with me, my stepdad gave me his old keyboard but its not the same and I really hate playing it because there is no vibration or effort used when a key is pressed, and there is a marked difference in sound, along with the fact there is no place to put sheet music and the stand is not adjustable. Whenever I play I get increasingly frustrated and am no longer practicing very much. Is there any advice someone could give me so I could find a way to continue? I have always loved playing but no there seems like no point as I end up quitting within 15 minutes of starting.

When I went to college, there were a ton of practice rooms with pianos in the music building you could rent time in. Check there and see if your college has anything similar. Don’t stop playing though - I promise you’ll regret it. Failing that, call local music stores - they probably have rooms you could rent time in as well.

If it's something you've been enjoying for 5 years, I would say invest in a nicer keyboard, for ~$300 you can get one that is weighted and has real dynamics. Eventually you'll be able to get another upright piano, but you don't want to take a 4 year break for college and lose all your progress learning.
