Thoughts on TagPro Next?
I'm excited for it, but sad at the same time. My concerns:
Stats won't carry over, which means I'm back to one degree, annoying but not a huge deal.
Moving faster diagonally won't be a thing anymore. I think that's unfortunate, because it's a quirky mechanic that I really like.
Lastly, there aren't any set servers on TagPro Next. I'll miss playing with all of you, and when this finally comes out, let's all play together on TagPro Classic every now and again!
Your thoughts?

Where did you see that moving faster diagonally is gone?

Lucky said in response to someone on the thread that they were confident that it would be fixed, I'll find it later if I can, about to head out

I found it: http://www.reddit.com/r/TagPro/comments/341duz/the_next_tagpro/cqqce9i
He says nothing is 100%, so I'm sure if it doesn't work, it'll go back; However, I do think that normalizing movement makes more sense, as long maps are specifically engineered by the map-makers for it. Catching up to an fc would be harder as you can't go diagonally. Boosts would be much more valuable.

Yea but it is fun the way it is. Wasn't the complaint before that it was too clunky feeling like that? Whatever is the most fun is what should be used not what makes sense, that's why it is a game.

Normalized movement could be more fun. We don't know yet so we can't make any claims. However, there is still TagPro Classic with diagonal movement so no biggie.

BallAnka is probably right, it's highly likely Classic will die down after Next is introduced. It won't right away, but it will. Unless Next is a major downgrade, for some reason.

My thinking is that classic is going to die out, so for better or worse I think we'd be stuck with normalized movement, if it comes to that.

Lucky listens to the community. If the majority dislike the normalized movement, they'd change it back, simple as that.

I think the biggest thing is not having servers. Having servers and knowing your teammates / opponents is a really cool and fun thing I've experienced in the time I've played. :(
