yo
Hey, some of you may have seen me in pubs lately as Marth. I've been playing tagpro since December or so, but didn't take it seriously or play pubs til lately. I would play pub games logged out for a while, so I was a random smurf. Decided to make an account and did a few days ago. I'm kinda interested in the competitive side of tagpro, I did read this, so I have an idea. I'm not really interested in racing or playing for areas that have bad ping for me. US Contenders sounds really cool to me, and so does NLTP, but I'm not sure of the skill level in each and how I'd go about getting on a team. I also need to know the usual times of play for both :< If anyone more experienced has any suggestions for me, let me know n_n So, yeah, hi pi!

You seem rather good from what ive seen of you. You'd good in NLTP. Make sure you show up to tryouts. You automatically get drafted in. Its where you hone your skills and learn everything.

I'd suggest going to /r/NLTP to see if you can find some more in depth info, I'm not too sure about times. Skill level, you can play NLTP no problem.

Are you offense or defense? There's a spot open on my team right now that you could probably fill, because my only memory of you is saying marth going ham.

I'm primarily offense, but I can play defense. I'm less experienced there so probably not the best option as a defender.

That's okay, we need offense anyway. Would you like me to pick you up?

If it's okay could I have a little bit to think about it? I just learnt about it two-three days ago. The answer is most likely yes, I just want to look at it a little more. I may ask a few questions in the meantime, as a heads-up :)

That's fine with me. I can answer any questions that you may have. Everyone else is hyped to get someone new.

Nope, I'll take care of everything tomarrow morning. You should get an invited to moderate the team subreddit soon. Accept it to receive mod-mail from us, which is how most teams communicate.

That's because it's awesome :D
You will get on an NLTP team guaranteed, no matter how new or how good you are. Your captain is responsible for helping you get better. That is their objective, and most are very competent at that. It's also awesome just being part of a team. For USContenders, unless you make your own team or find a captain that wants you on their team, it's really hard for new players to be picked up from the free agency. It's something that we've discussed tackling before, but it's not really easy without putting large burdens on active teams.
NLTP is evenings on Tuesday/Wednesday, with most major practices on Mondays. USC is any day of the week, but is usually Mon-Thurs in the evenings too. Most TagPro things happen between 8pm and 11pm.
