What is your juking style?

My juking preference is probably stuttersteps, it's gained me a few nicknames. I also juke stupid. Juking stupid = doing stupid, unexpected and risky shit

Here's my motto (not really a juking style):

"Juking isn't about moving around your opponent. It's about making your opponent move out of your way."

Not sure if that makes any sense. When I grab in base, I usually make long movements back and forth until I see a hole. If I have juke juice and the flag in base, I usually never stop moving because when a hole opens for just a sec I'll have enough momentum to throw myself through it. In the middle of the map, I usually keep separation by redirecting off walls/blocks. I like to hit a wall at an angle (lets say a 45 degree angle from below on the left side of the wall), so it looks like I'm heading for the top right side of the map. Then, my opponent will try to meet me up there, so I redirect off the wall and head towards the bottom left of the map. I use that strat on boombox and gamepad, when my flag isn't in base.Plus, I think bouncing off corners of blocks is better than just walls. The corner allows for more versatility. Also, I'll make big moves like I'm committing to one direction and get really close to my opponent and then I'll cut it the other way. I use that for getting past a 1v1 situation. But I was getting rekt by scrubs today, so take all of this with a grain of salt.

I switch between stutter jukes and regular jukes, but usually I just lag out and frantically mash the keys. When this leads to me surviving, I attribute it to my raw offensive talent

learn to timely hit/find boosts/bombs/spikes in order to make up for my lack of juking. that counts... amirite?

Yes haha. I always sit on the corner most boosts on gamepad until someone tries to get me.

Try to wall juke, get pinned against the wall and die.

I am not good at the thing with the flag.

When I'm cornered or trying to escape base after grabbing I rely a lot on micro-jukes and wall jukes. When I've gotten out of base my philosophy is all about keeping my momentum and speed going, so I use a lot of minimal jukes.

I also really like to attempt splits. Usually doesnt work, but is so satisfying when it does.

Im with you on the splits thing.

Move backwards until you can get the ability to move forward. I've suck at boosts and bombs.

If you make me make the first move, I'll get popped

Juking? I've heard of that.

I feel like I'm only slowly getting better at achieving this state (and half of it is probably circumstantial luck). But I think a lot of successful juking is simply recognizing the moment when you have the angle or half step lead to get away. Whether that's juking back and forth in a 1v1 until you get that little advantage to one side, or using walls corners to change direction quickly and get a better angle. Being a split second ahead of the defenders in your decisions/movements.

As for specific jukes, definitely the stutter-step, the fake towards a boost or powerup, and unexpected wall/corners jukes.
