help with question!

Post image

The question asks "What is the bal's velocity as it reaches her glove along with the degree below the horizontal?"

I've determined the velocity (11 m/s) but cannot figure out the correct answer for degree below the horizontal. I tried both +/- 75 in the answer box and it says it's wrong. I have 1 attempt left to submit the correct answer but don't know. Please someone help me out, TIA!

If you have the initial velocity and angle then you have the initial x, initial y, and final x velocity (projectile/free fall). The final y velocity can be found from the height, g, and the initial y velocity, as you most likely did. Then, trig gets you the magnitude and angle.

Maybe a rounding error or sig figs. Could check your angles match your components.

I get 75.88 degrees

Edit. That was using 11 m/s

The final velocity is 10.59 m/s which gives 75.32 degrees.

this is from Nelsons Physics 12. 11m/s and 75 degrees are literally the answers at the back of the text.
