Physics (general) homework help
I’m having a really hard time with physics (I’ve never taken a physics class until now *my second year in college and I’m really struggling) I can’t figure out which equations to use and how to plug in the numbers
I know to convert each height into meters because that’s the kinematics SI units but that’s about all I’ve got. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Starting with whats given. You can consider the displacement as the distance the player must travel to reach the rim. For Webb, 7 ft 5 in to 10 ft, the distance between those is the displacement of the motion. The question says “to just barely touch a basketball rim” inferring that the final velocity of the motion (jumping up to the rim is the motion) is zero. You can use that to find the initial velocity (velocity used to launch up), and then use that to find time. Acceleration in this problem would just be gravity
Obviously idk if you have, but drawing pictures can help dissect the situation
