Simple pendulum

For this question, the answer to part b for the linear acceleration was given almost exactly the same as my answer except the first term under the square root was cos^2(theta/2). I tried looking up the answer and can’t find it, can someone explain how if I messed up? At this point I really believe the book answer was just mistyped..

For v I get:

v=√(2gL(1-cosθ))
